Limiting your drug intake is one of the keys to longetivity,

BTW Cocaine never was a rave drug,

In the old days it was actually frowned upon

The videos no longer available,

I know what track you were trying to put up though ;)

Here's the original NKOTB performing their new track, they're back and better than ever!

Truly amazing stuff!

Pffffttt... no, no, I was trying to put up "Your Only Friend" by Phuture.

I'll take your car from you, etc...
In the end
I'll be your only friend

Phuture also had a track called "Cocaine" which isn't too different. In short, cocaine was indeed popular but frowned upon in the early acid house scene. I think it had something to do with yuppies and architects.

Kind of like the architecture and art in Beetlejuice. That indicates a coke habit or chronic ketamine use, when your house looks kind of like Saturn.

I don't even consider that to be a part of the rave scene, what so ever.

... That's just something else. Some kind of freak spawn, which emerged from a cesspool of American Apparel and Vice Magazine.

What is that question here seriously, nu raver, old raver, new but old raver... Common, <<nu ravers are gay, old ravers are great> pwouaha, maybe i missed something here. Why dont you stop whining at people who goes at the same partys as you do.

I dont know if i'm a raver at all, in fact i dont know the difference between a new ,an old or a whatnot raver. I guess i dont even know what the '' rave '' word stand for and honestly i could not care less.

I mean, please, i go to <<raves>> precisely because of the openess and the diversity of the people there. I dont care if people are old, young, dressed like a walking neon or like a vampire. The whole point is to have a great time. If wearing fluorescent clothes and dancing with glowsticks makes you feel good, than it's fine by my own standard.

Hey do you realize the nonsense behind this:

Jesus, its like << wanting to be cool and be the big thing is crap, i'm so higher than this. I'm the one who is cool, i<m the big thing >>

To me those << raves >> partys ( whatever that means ) are about having a good time with people having a good time and dancing my heart out to diverse kind of electronic music sets with people enjoying this as much as i do. =)

I guess i'm not cool enough to bitch on a kind of raver ( haha ) i never knew existed.
Haha! XD

wow amen.

I'm feeling kiss me, im shitface right now..

Weoow, CHILLAX dude, I'm the last person on earth who'd be conceided and looking down on people. the only thing I meant is that I find the rave scene much more fun and laid back that the Neon/nu ravers. I don't like feeling like I'm being judged and watched the whole time I'm at a party, and hearing people bitch about everything and everyone instead of just having fun and dancing, which is why I said that to begin with cause I feel there's a lot of tension to be "a certain way" in that scene, which I absolutely find annoying. I think people should be accepted for who they are and no have to change to fit in. But then I guess it can be interpreted many different ways... I think your over reacting a bit, probably cause you don,t know me but it's all good. :)

And BTW, you just said the exact same thing I said, or at least meant to say :

"To me those << raves >> partys ( whatever that means ) are about having a good time with people having a good time and dancing my heart out to diverse kind of electronic music sets with people enjoying this as much as i do. =) "

I don't find it necessary to put a label on old or new raver, there can be jerks or amazing ppl in both cases. but who cares, really?

My disctintion is so: If you were raving before the crackdown between 1999-2000, your old school. If you started raving after it, your nu-skool. Its more of a generational term to describe if you were around during the good years, or if you arrived after the coppers and popular press decimated the scene.

And that makes most people in their late 20s and early 30s old school. It makes most of us in their teens and early 20s nu school.

Does anyone get the problem yet? its pretty obvious...

At any rave today, I would estimate that between 70-80% of ravers are Nu-Skool, right? So if 80% of ravers are from an age group in which drama is at epic proportions, wouldnt that skew the scene?

The problem with us nu-skool ravers is that we basicly inherited a scene that was on the verge of collapse. And I know no one wants to hear the story about how the scene was dying, but imagine how dead raves today would be w/o those under the age of 20. And so, not only are they young, but they don't exactly have an established scene where they come up; theyre kinda making their own way cuz of the lack of old skoolers still around.

And thats obviously going to change the culture. The avg age of ravers have fallen, and the culture of the old scene hasn't been passed along in the most complete or ideal way. So one would expect the culture to change; its less mature, its more superficial, and its obviously different...

But the longer people go to raves, the more they get it. And those that dont; the ones that are in it for the rebellion and the facebook photos, they end up leaving after a year or 2.

The scene is young again...but it will mature. It would help if the old-skool ravers wouldnt just stick to themselves so much. The younger Nu-Skoolers are pretty intimidated, you should go and say hello, maybe take a few under your wing...
I'm feeling at home ^__^ right now..

LOL that is so true. Too bad some of us then log onto [ Rave.ca ] and get called CREEPY for being friendly with people 1/2 to 1/3rd our age.

Caterpillar anyone? "Go away, creepy old man".

And that's what makes me both... I never went to the parties before '99 or '00, but I was listening to the music. and hanging out with other ravers...

I started actually going to the parties last year, and I now hang out with the "Nu and Old Ravers"
my best friend and I have been asked onto a radio show to talk about old school ravers cause we are the definition of them in the host's eyes, little does he know, I may be 25 but I'm still Nu school to most of the ravers out there.
I'm feeling i love lamp right now..
