That's it.

:)

I think its important to make a distinction between someone who's "new" to the scene, and someone who's embraced "nu rave" fashion a couple of years ago. There's a big difference.

And old ravers were not lame at all, in the early 90s it was actually the most exciting youth movement around, and it started out very small, especially in Canada.

whats nu rave fashion?

I meant that more in terms of "being trendy" or suivre la mode,

Raves existed long before Nu rave and will continue to exist after Nu rave has died and long been forgotten about.

The music is also way overated and I can safely say the Klaxons fucking suck ass,

Ironically, most nu rave djs now play electro house, which I find hilarious ;)

New Rave:

Music publication NME is largely responsible for popularising the term throughout 2006 and 2007, despite having itself claimed in mid-2008 reviews that "New Rave is over". The genre has connotations of being a 'new' version of 'rave' as well as being a corruption of the term 'new wave'.[2]

Klaxons,[3][4][5] New Young Pony Club,[6][7][8][9], Hadouken!, MC Hardcore Superstylee, Bono Must Die[10] and SHITDISCO[3] are generally accepted as the main exponents of the genre.

The aesthetics of the New Rave scene are largely similar to those of the original rave scene, being mostly centred around psychedelic visual effects. Glowsticks, neon and other lights are common, and followers of the scene often dress in extremely bright and fluorescent colored clothing.[3][11]

woah hold up...by that definition Id be willing to wager that everyone is old school on this site.

That "new rave" music sounds like brit-pop-rock + electro-house to make a kinda breaky electro house. I would imagine you hear this at trendy clubs that proudly advertise their electro-house and hip-hop electro mashups, where all you here is the same top 40 electro house top 40 tracks (ie a set featuring supermode, benassi, kaskade).

Its not really rave music bliss...its more faux underground trendy club music. Like I suppose what a suppose a wannabe blitzart might play :P

Did this scene ever even make it out of Britain Bliss?

Gamos,

I don't know enough about nu rave except I like some of the clothes which are fun,

Musically though from what I've heard, I think most of its crap,

Now we even have The New Rave Kids On The Block,

Melodie, c'est normal pour un break lover d'aimer l'electro. La plupart des "original" electro classics sont tres "breaky". D'ailleurs durant les 90s la scene break etait une des seules scenes qui gardait l'electro en vie.

Nu Rave
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
Jump to: navigation, search

Nu-Rave is the most beautiful thing to hit this planet since Stalin's left toe. It is a type of cake mainly aimed at 12 year olds who enjoying wearing Neon leggings and pretending to have lives. Let us begin with the history of this glorious race.

The best thing ever invented. Due to copius amounts of sweetners being consumed these Nu Ravers acne has gone neon pink.

A Nu Raver originates as a form of colourless gas called 'Neon', chemical symbol 'Ne' and atomic number 10. When it is captured it is then chilled, then warmed, then chilled, then warmed and then chilled until it turns into a reddish glow in the form of a 12 year old prepubescent tween.

Early 2007 was a beautiful moment. The conception of Nu-Rave was an eerily menacing one, but to cut a long story short five ten year olds got drunk on cheap cider and had an orgy. They thought; there seems to be a lot of neon about, and a lot of music which contains strange noises. They decided to combine the two to produce the most glorious thing ever seen.

It is often said that Nu-Rave is a joke consturcted by NME (NME stands for Nethilistic Monotone Eggplant) and the band Klaxons (Klaxons stands for 'oooh we are so different and not over hyped in any way). This is a lie. As said in the famous S Club Seven song 'Reach' Don't believe in everything that you've been told. Nu-Rave is not a joke but the biggest world religion since Neo-Nazism. The Klaxons who maintain they had nothing to do with the popularisation of Nu Rave are currently sitting in their neon painted offices, puffing on cuban cigars and roaring with laughter at every single person who walks into topman/buys any of their records.
[edit] Right, we've got the concept but what do we do as 'Nu-Ravers'

Unlike the original Rave scene no raves are involved as the Nu-Ravers are all about tweleve years old and must therefore, by the new laws set up by Haggis Baron Gordon Brown must be home by 6.30.However the memebers of the Nu-Rave crew do have raves, these mainly consist of jam fights and the consumption of sweeteners in the faint hope that if you consume enough the effect will be similar to that of Cocaine.
[edit] So what attire do we Nu-Raves choose to present oursleves in, was the next question asked

The main choice for the coolest of the cool in this crew is a pair of neon leggins (pink for girls, pink for boys) and a slogan tee-shirt reading something non threating ,just in case their parents find it. An example of a slogan that might be printed woul be 'Throw Cake not Aids or Read the Q'uran and eat your greens.

Hoodies are a must for the on-the-go nu raver. But choice of design is very limited. Only neon colors and bizarre nonsensical print are acceptable. If at first glance, your hoody doesn't blind or totally confuse others then youre not trying hard enough.

Moderation is the key of the nu-rave dress code. Pants must not be scrotum strangling tight or loose enough to hide 5 more pairs of pants underneath. shirts must be from topman. fuck you if you think otherwise. wacky accessories are optional like.....i dunno, bowler hats? suspenders? who cares? nu-rave is all about being "creative" right?

IMPORTANT: there is no such thing as a fat new raver. if you have a belly you might as well sign up for an alternative like fucking techno with guitars or playing daft punk backwards while you stand on your head.
[edit] What causes do the Nu-Ravers support?

Nu-Ravers are firecly supportive of the debating society of North and North West London. They also take part in many Emo lynchings worldwide. Nu-Ravers are fiercely opposed to emos and will go out of their way to laugh and them. What they do not realise is that anyone with half a grain of rice is laughing at them.
[edit] What does the future hold for these beautiful poet laurates?

Nothing. They can go and dig their own neon graves.
I'm feeling bass heavy right now..

Petite parenthèse sur le PLUR pcq chu à boutte de lire que "back then, everybody was all about it"... This is not true, and I'm sure Pat, Melo and all the others will agree...

Is it me or back then (in the 90s that is) we all made fun of people who shouted PLUR? And do I even need to mention that most of them were high as hell on MDMA/E? Cause I remember hearing people call them e-tards evvvvery single time LOL. I do not remember the word itself ever beeing a "cool" thing to say, but maybe my memory is fucked.

I'm not dissing anyone BTW!! but seriously, I don,t think anyone who actually said PLUR was 100% all about peace love unity respect, especially not when their drugs wore off(no offense, but most of us were high as hell). Nobody can be 100% of the time, well unless they're illuminated buddhist monks... That being said, there are still a lot of people who are genuinely caring/loving/generous with total strangers, which is great cause we need those good vibes:) Drama is real fuckin pointless...

This is true, "PLUR" was never something you SAID, it was something you DID. It was not a salutation but an adjective. "S/He's PLUR" was something you could hear but "hey man, PLUR" was a bit weird.

Being on E was a way to learn that you CAN be PLUR, and how it feels. Sadly, that fact was lost on the growing crowds of would-be ravers and the scene died.
I'm feeling plur right now..
