I think most Montreal ravers still have the love for the music, and that for the majority, raves are not just an excuse to pump their bodies full of drugs.

I think there's so much love for music that some people like to fight for their favorite genre... Hence the bickering amongst "cliques".

I think that despite the fighting, we're still a great community of (somewhat) like-minded people.

I think that even though we're a great community, we lack great venues.

I think there's renewal, as in new people joining the community. Mostly for the love of the music, and (I hope) not simply for the drugs.

...
I think what's missing mostly is venues :)
I'm feeling abort?_ right now..

Les ravers auront toujours dans les 16 à 20 ans
Le monde est tout aussi friendly

Et L'électro il y en a trop
Et il manque du Gabber sacrament

Comme réponse, je dirais, plus ça change, plus c'est pareil
I'm feeling live a life again right now..

I love going out and dressing up (yeah funfur is fun :) and I'm not ashamed, sorry if it hurts your eyes people, but me no care!)
I love the music, I don't really care about the evolution of the so call rave scene... I was having fun 10 years ago, I'm having fun now. Not for the same reason, not with the same people, not on the same music... but a party is a party! and sorry, but that is really all it is... a party!

i'd like to agree with ufot that the rave scene hasn't existed for awhile... but it has existed, it's just evolved into something drasticly different that i've grown apart from...

for a dj playing a rave used to be the ultimate thrill and a door opening opportunity.

now it's more like a pain in the ass that seems to close more doors than it opens by association.

most productions are half assed with poor line ups and low turn outs and it seems that by promoting a party as a rave actually limits the clientèle.

ie. even if a rave party offers hipster genres such as electro or drum, bass etc., it won't necessarily attract the associated crowds due to it's "rave marketing".

my 2 cents...
I'm feeling republican right now..
