This is probably not the best place to ask, but does anyone know of any good welding schools that offer programs which don't cost 10,000$? I know they are out there. I've heard of people paying 300-1000$ for the same DEP that you would get when you pay 10,000.

Thanks in advanced. :)

So, the top screen of my Nintendo DS has stopped functioning (it's completely black) and I was wondering where I might be able to go to get it repaired without paying a crazy amount of money or sending it to Nintendo.

Halp?

Thanks! ^_^

(Most of) Those who are protesting are fucking morons. If they remained civil, and remained within the designated route which they were supposed to have agreed upon with the city, then the cops would not have beaten the shit out of them.

How does that make us any different than the mindless masses ?

And to make matters worse, most promoters are pre-broke, spineless and soft. So what do you do when you find a $20 under an old pizza box, wanna make sure you can gather as much people as possible with the least chance of loosing money ? Well, you throw a psytrance or dubstep party, that's what ! "Hey, if 300 people came at that party last week, the same 300 peeps are bound to come to MY party !"

Now what comes next isn't reminiscing because, quite frankly, today's scene has NOTHING to do with what it was way back when but I remember a time where you'd have, within the span of a month, various parties of various styles, some of which WEREN'T EVEN POPULAR AT THE TIME. Some promoters used to take chances and throw speedcore parties when progressive trance was the new black. Yeah, they must've lost money. Yeah, the place mustn've been packed like crazy...

... but they had the fucking balls to dare and not fall under the same vicious circle of popularity. And somehow, most of them succeeded.

Incunabula is hands down my favorite Autechre release. I remember when I first listened to it. Fucking phenomenal.

Amber is great as well. :P

I got to see them play in '07 and it was fucking sweet.

They'll be back, I'm sure. I want Aphex to come down.

But most of all, BOARDS OF CANADA.

I have zero compassion for broke promoters.

If you're practically broke to begin with, maybe you shouldn't be renting venues, sound systems, security, DJs, etc. and come crying you don't have enough money to pay for your staff and extra stuff.

If you can barely afford Kraft Dinner, don't fucking go dining at the Helene De Champlain restaurant and ball your eyes out trying to attract sympathy and comprehension from everyone when your bank account is in the red. YOU PUT YOURSELF IN THIS PREDICAMENT, no one twisted your arm to throw a party, no one forced you to invest in a party where you came out empty-handed money-wise, YOU decided to try your luck and do it anyway for whatever personal reasons or desire to serve your "rave community".

Ultimately, like ANY FUCKING BUSINESS VENTURE, YOU ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PARTY'S SUCCESS OR DEMISE so stay sober ( for fuck's sake ), plan your shit thoughtfully like an adult instead of a giddy 8 year old on speed and learn from your - and everyone else's - mistakes. And if your party tanks, well suck it up and DEAL WITH IT LIKE A MAN/WOMAN instead of whining, bitching or sneaking out the back exit like a fucking coward.

Bingo. No cash? Don't throw a party.

Reign In Blood cost me 4000$. I managed to pay everything off, but I did not make back what I put in for the event. Not even close. I paid 4000$ (djs/live acts (about 32 in total), venue, lights, sound, deco, blah blah blah), and made 500$ back. But you know, it was worth it in the end. Because: I had a really great time organizing it and seeing others enjoying themselves at a Hardcore party. I did it for the music.

Somehow, about 300 people showed up even though it was in Laval (at the Level. Wanted something downtown ultimately, but there was nothing available at the time) and there was a snow storm that night.

Lesson? Next time, no Laval or snow. LOL

This:

No, I am not "trollin'".

I listen to alot of stuff like this, among other things as well. My main focus is Industrial (this is going to sound pretentious as hell, but, REAL Industrial), Noise, Ambient, "I.D.M", Powerviolence, Crust, Grind, old school Hip Hop, and Black Metal. Also, a considerable amount of electronic music. Quite a few things in between.

Ps. I have already done a film soundtrack in the past. Wasn't a paid job though, sadly.
