In due time, ideally, I'll be able to take recommendations on how to improve sound quality or set up a better space for events, but our purpose with the SAT is bigger than parties.

She probably thinks I'm a big dick so if she doesn't want to talk I'd totally understand.

I got a check from them too, but since it was only for $50 US I felt it would be worth more if I framed it and saved it as a momento of my first earnings from intellectual property. That way it can be a traded commodity after I hit the big time.

You're right...the cigarettes are a bad idea. Also, the only people who really feel the effects of vandalizing bus shelters are the poor shlumps waiting for the bus. And the rest of us who have to pay more for a ticket.
Instead, lets start a movement of reverse socialism and attack the Unions. They haven't done any good since the worker movements at the turn of the century and while they may have served a purpose at one time and may have had the best intentions in mind, like communism and organized religion, it has fallen into irrelevance and abuse by a few.

I'd be up for some concerted attacks on the STM if this goes on any longer than a couple days. In one day break a whole bunch of bus stops, throw a few rocks through some windsheilds, light up some ciggies on the bus.
Lets apply the same aggressive tactics that these unions have traditionally used on their employers. LEts make a consumer union. They know that by putting the consumers' needs at stake it gets the pressure up and the results they want. But we all complain to the STM authority. Lets start hitting the cunts on their comfortable bus seats and breaking stink bombs right next to their little metro tea-booths. heheheh

Welcome back! Like I told you @ Scream, we all go through the periods of unspiration and it can make you feel pretty bad about yourself cuz maybe, just maybe, you're spent and will never find motivation again. We can't all be J-Lo or Jay Z and just blatantly steal or (even worse) re-do a song that was already successful! No, we have to actually be creative.
Seriously, if you ever get dry, and you will, try that "Fuck-with-a-sample" technique. I usually use the sample to create the base (not bass) for a song, than remove it after my 1st or 2nd track is completed and use THAT track to build the new song. Even the Beatles ripped off more obviously than that so don't feel too bad. These are just exercises!

Alex Alex Alex. You are a simple little boy. If you think someone on RAVEWAVE is gonna try to fuck your shit up you are not only immoral and a parasite, but you are naive too. Eldar, Charlie, etc...won't try to fuck you up! They go to school. They have ambition. They have a FUTURE. You think they'll risk that over a few hunny or you? Please.
So don't keep looking over your shoulder. Relax. Enjoy your time at Scream. Pop some pills and have a smoke and spend other peoples money. Imagine one day when YOU'LL be the big superstar spinning next to Stakka!
These situations are usually resolved by people you don't know. People you've never met or even seen. The rest of us will just wave goodbye from the sidelines and lament the thought that maybe you COULD have been working next to Stakka.

Obviously it would be inappropriate to exact revenge at Scream (or any party as you said). Why then we'd be on the same level as the hiphop scene (zing!). No tempers or I swear to Jeebus... I know how you candy kidz are. Violent thugs. Seriously, I guarantee peace from me. The "summit' is just referring to talks on a subject and nothing more sinister.
I just heard another platitude which fits: "When Lending money to a friend, only lend if you are prepared to lose the money and the friend". How's that for canned wisdom?
So has everyone learned something yet? Is there a moral to this? Class dismissed.

Try to say something intelligent here and the peanut gallery calls you gay and pathetic.
I have fought addiction. Providing him with excuses is bad. Anyone who succumbs to addiction is weak and if you disagree you are misled. It is hard, but you can only help yourself if you want to blah blah blah... It's a personality flaw and I speak as a person who has fought addiction, still deals with it, and has studied addiction in the contexts of everything from food to drugs, to sex, to homicide (go visit Millhaven Maximum, in Kingston ON to see what fucked up really is).
Skram, Maybe I don't know him as well as you do. I never dated him. But I know the behaviour and if I'm wrong, I'll appologise. As you will learn, I am never wrong.
And being pro or con an individual doesn't make you gay. Being homosexual and having sex with memebers of the same sex makes you gay. Like your father does with you! But while your father may be gay, you technically are not as you do not consent to his sex. You're a victim like the rest of your pathetic siblings!
Now go and breed with yourself you example of poor safe-sex practice.

Objectively, if you do care about Alex, don't say where you saw him. There are people praying to find out where he is so they can make an example out of him.
I have never heard anyone say anything nice about him until this thread. From what I understood, Alex is cancer. If you want to say nice things about him and drop PLUR all over, great. Jesus loves you. The stories I'm getting are from people who actually know him intimately and people who I trust as being excellent judges of character. Some people who have said great things about him in this thread and paint him as a tragic victim I also hold to be good judges of character. I've met him only about 5 times and he made a really good impression each time, but his actions have spoken a lot more. It's actually quite beneficial for a parasite to have great people-skills.
If you are pro-Alex, for fuck sakes don't make him out to be a victim because he doesn't need excuses, he needs help. And if he is as talented and great as some of you have said he is, he's not tragic. He's pathetic.
IF you really cared about him, then get out from behind your computer and actually do something to help him. Talk is cheap. Ask Alex.

"It may be that the only purpose of your life is to serve as a warning to others"

If Alex is a smart as you all say he is (and honestly, I'm really suprised at some of the people showing him love at this point) he's left town. If he hasn't, and there's any way to get a message to him, tell him to go and don't mention where he's going to anyone. The guy hasn't done anything to me personally so I'm just offering friendly advice here. He may not even know it but he's apparently stolen from some people who don't ask for their money back and who I don't think post on ravewave. It wouldn't be advised that he come up for air soon.

Run, Don't walk away from them. I made it to one of their 'interviews' on Greene and they pretty much take everyone to sell their shit. I figured out at the interview it was the same bunch of people who 'hired' a friend of mine and they are scam artists. I told them they couldn't afford me and that they should keep hunting for naive highschool kids. The worst thing is after your training (ie. harassing random people on the street) they place you at some small town out in the middle of nowhere (travel!) and force you to stay at an affiliated hotel where they force you to buy food packages. You pay your own way. You maybe get 5-10 bucks for your efforts if you are lucky.
You'd be lucky to break even.
The ad has nothing to do with anything. Music? Ha.

Serial. Let's look into this now. I remember Molson had a concert series held in ultra-canadian locations and one of them was a Metallica set in the arctic. You had to win to go to that 1. I think one could theoretically get something massive up there if one contacted the appropriate sponsors, cultural comissioners, tourism industrialists, talent, and members of the international community. Why Ibiza? Well I guess cuz its a hot tropical paradise, but still pretty arbitrary. Why Berlin? More accessible but only once a year. Iqaluit has the midnight sun going for it big time and is actually pretty central for countries like USA, Canada, Northern Europe, UK, and Russia if you think of how much fuel it would take to get from any of those places. Can any geo majors back me up on that? Maybe I'm wrong. Still, anyone want to give er?

That is so funny! You really from Baffin? I'm not. I'm some dick from Ottawa. But I went on an exchange to Clyde River in 95 and one of my frinds is from Iqa.
Actually, the midnight sun concept is really REALLY cool idea. No noise complaints, northern lights, we could do a sick uber-expensive party up there and I know the contacts in the Fed Gov't who could help set it up. We make it like a cross-cultural exchange between the montreal UG massive and Baffin Island and have the Fed Gov't subsidize the flight on cultural grounds.
Shall we aim for next summer?

Dear Artists, Designers, and Taggers,

Think of this as a challenge. I’m looking for a little help with the design of a logo. It needs to use the words “Urban Knowledge 514” which is a program to teach students about the urban underground music scene in Montreal. I’m giving full creative license to anyone interested so feel free to interpret.
If you’d like more info about the program just email me @ mpukay@hotmail.com

The mailing thing is an old wives tale. Like spilling salt is bad luck. The way you do it is to submit it for copyright. You don't need a copyright lawyer unless you've got a problem but you could get a notary to verify it. The mailing to yourself doesn't neccesarily get a date on it (find a letter with the date on it in Canada...go ahead I'll wait for you) so if you want to go through with it make sure you send it registered mail. Mailing it will demonstrate creative precedent but that is not a guarantee that it is protected. If the other dude's lawyer is better than yours he might win. Unless it's vocal trance. Then nobody wins.

Sorry! To clrify...Include trance with house and techno. 4 on the Floor from Montreal. I put house because it is at the present time, a more representative sound in greater montreal. The sounds listed are the umbrella genres. The DJ does not have to be in the collective but I'd prefer to give the opportunity to someone great who has good exposure in the underground, but could use more representation in a more diverse market.
For example, as Seb is already spoken for, Stabba or The Nitrous would be good candidates for DnB/Jungle.
Feel free to private message me your thoughts too!
Peace all,
M
