 Coolness: 509560 | I have no problem with those trying to help our cause, but criticizing what we write without offering any constructivism at all is useless. I'd rather not hear what parts of my email he doesn't like if he's not even going to bother telling me why he doesn't like/agree with it.
And with all due respect, I really can't say that I trust his understanding of the english language well enough to take his criticism with anything more than a grain of salt. Maybe he didn't like my sentence because he doesn't understand it. Then again, I suppose the city officials wouldn't understand it either in that case. |

but subculture is one word, and your "its" doesn't need an apostrophe. also "I have heard from a friend that you are an important part of this beautiful city, Montreal." sounds really childish. I think they know what city we're in, since they work for it. You shouldn't be implying that you only just recently heard of these people because your friend casually mentioned them. You *should* give them the impression that everybody knows who they are since they're such big wheels down at city hall. kiss their asses a bit.... that's just my impression. honeslty, good luck with this noah et al. |

this sorta fall in good timing since it provide you with info about how THE PEOPLE dont have access to the mountain but the elistist does. |

| Coolness: 51240 | also PS alien zed - while "Constructivism" is in fact a real word (I was surprised to learn that just now [ en.wikipedia.org ] ), it's not the same thing as "constructive criticism", and you should definitely not use that word in that way in a letter to the city. They will think you're dumb. No offense.
I just imagine that these people that work for the city must read an awful lot of letters from citizens, and I bet you anything that once they see poor spelling, grammar, or whatever, they pretty much just toss that letter in the "crazy-slash-stupid" pile. No offense dude! But writing a letter to the city requires a bit of a different type of language than posting on ravewave does. |

 Coolness: 34550 | i dont know if someone has mentioned this... but look into what authority they have over events, or activities in that area.
my understanding is that you are not permitted to hold this event because of 1) a moratorium on new events and 2) its weekly and they want yearly. ask this representative to show you proof that they are the sole controllers of this space in the park. What piece of legislation gives them the authority to place these restrictions on this particular space? (moratorium? yearly?) my understanding is that they are just managing this space for the public as a courtesy to avoid confusion in organizing events. but i believe that they are unable to stop your event provided you take some proper steps. if you get someone who will reply to those questions under oath and full liability, you can then progress from their answers and take further action. |
