isnt a demo made to send the basic idea & direction of the artist ?

ie you dont need to showoff your 24bit depth samples if your to have a dumbass engineers that
will remaster everything you made on the account he has more gear himself ?

i got 3 letters again : V-H-S, or DVD

i read most ppl around here seems to want the end product right away at the demo prod.

demo = jam. if its a bomb track it speaks for itself. you dont need to hear that C# Cb contour you
dreamth last night or your the only one to hear...

overall, guy want a demo, for booking, the only thing you want to see there is:

can he/she drop good track ( vhs give you more that an hour )

can he/she beatmatch ( vsh give out the baseline , mabe use your super hearing here and figure out you will hear those little mistake even if your not on 24bit , christ it was done in the 70s with
better resoution and less digitalisation )

can the medium be read by most ppl withou use of rare / specific hardware.

ha i bet you will look for a while before someone that has a dat tape nowadays, and still use it.

oh there is some, just , GOOD LUCK.

so again super hearing 3d spread depth definition on demo.. haha get real.

anyways the broad listener will hear most majors harmonics, discarding the rest , if the
technology didnt beforehand...

shit even today i drop some track i have being listening for more than 10 years and still hear
new stuff just because i do small changes. like better gauge wires , better tuning, better/louder broadcast on bigger systems etc...

an demo is your buizness card. i remember having my card etched on a piece of napkin once. and still got the job, DUE to the convincing tone of the napkin !

i was just getting back on track, because im heaing about this module or this card.

hey, i want full quality too, just to get simple on topic. any onboard music card with a .wav

recorder software should doo. except most of them will create "holes" or time laps of re-synch by

the machine or something. i have tested lots of apps, and unless your computer is strictly for

music production and you dont browse p0rn , most chances you will get performance downgrade just

enought to make you demo look anal on the first take.

a good choice is reliable tape decks, and the biggest i know was what i suggested.

even better than rewriteable dvd, you just need to rewind. retake voila !

another appoach is for the guy to make his demo a live broadcast and send the link to the person

targetted for the demo listening

vlan player - vlc player can help you do that

okay, let me ask my question for the 4th time. if you don't know the solution, please refrain from giving me a suggestion.. LOL.. cause i know there are TONS of software out there that are created to record LINE-in devices directly in MP3 without having to convert it.

so, does anyone know or have a program that records LINE-IN straight into MP3's (cause i don't care if the Dj sucks and needs to have his Dj set re-worked after his set) LOL.. :P

thanks in advance. I know creative has one but i think it only works with creative sound cards.

:)

using lame in real time ?

your layering the buffer on mp3. compare to track downwright. each packet will create a overhead
of read / wright . that buffer you want to use for quality, not for saving space in your computer.

isnt there an other alternative to what you want done ?

really thats for recording parties right ? parties record should have 2 computers imo, one that
dumps. when it fills, the other pick up while the other convert. but sometimes you might need
a 3rd due of overhead.

so if 3 computers gets lagged in overhead, imagine your single mp3 on the fly writer... i, again dont
advise this procedure as its deployed of now... scope results show differences on slope.

theorically it works

but filling a box and empting the content is better that trying to keep it empty. *thinking of same repetitive movements required on a finite box*

yea clown. you can.

with a dvd/magnetoscope (video) combo. yea the dvd players that are in fact wrighters, and you can
dump the old vhs on dvd. if you jack to the audio jack and record 240 minutes dvd, you can get
mp3 encoding depending on the quality of the recorder.

but you will have a problem when you will reach 240 minutes. but then again you will have the vhs
recorder avail on the line to record away.

I still don't understand why you can't have someone start and stop the recording between sets.
It's the most simple and failure-resistant way. I mean you can do that or spend 1000$ + on a reliable hardware recorder.

i dunno scotty.. maybe like, durring the party, like, i don't want to spend the night behind a fucken computer for 12 hours, observing the exact seconds each Dj is about to finish, in two rooms, with 30 Djs'..

by all means, if you feel like giving me a hand, maybe i'll consider it !!

p.s. SOFTWARE !!!
