but you have to know that recording will store the data in your ram (usually) and hardware cache, and recording with a computer makes it in .wav, so it really depend on who much your computer can handle, not really the program you use! Deadfunk: doesn't it take like at least 2 minutes to "Save as" a file in realtime ? |

| Coolness: 153035 | not really, on my computer it takes like 30 seconds for a 1 hour wav file, just save it it in wav, not in mp3, in mp3 it takes alot more time.
i save it in wave then when im at home i compress it, eq it, limit it, then make an mp3, so of the dj doesnt control his gains and eq's, its way less obvious once you did the little mastering, and its as loud as it can be. |

the problem is the longer you do per shot the less quality/depth you get ... much like a 96kpbs mp3... but really for dj mix the standard imo is a vhs copy, all my dj friends that wanted to export their mix and didnt have money for a computer , they made a vhs, they knew anywhere they go they could have their 8 hours ... or 2, 4 ,8 sets made and want to mixdown... good reference too when you prepare a set and its very long, you dump it on tape, then fall asleep listening to it again... then repeating the process upon waking up... |
