Have you ever tried bringing any sort of non-fluorescent deco into a psy rave? Anything different than the whole alien-themed thing that is nonetheless, in a very original way, psychedelic? Have you considered dressing uniquely when you go to psy-raves, rather than wearing dayglo? In fact, has anything new in terms of aesthetic been introduced to the psy-trance scene since its inception back around 1999?
No. Nothing at all. Shitjustgotreal.

i leave that for the other parties. i prefer fluorescent. i may even love blacklights more than i love psytrance... and since most psytrance party promoters prefer renting blacklights, i just go with the demand...
and i don't have much alien stuff... that's actually ont thing i'm dealing with at the moment, because i've been asked to deco an alien-themed party and i'm... not sure what to do. what i have the most is nature-inspired and molecules, and sacred geometry... all very earthy stuff, that is what inspires me the most. but there has been a lot of non-blacklight psy-deco. just look at last year's eclipse, the most of what they had was not blacklight reactive, and they were using projections and lights to create an effect. and... actually most techsafari parties are like that since a couple of years now, though apparently this year the deco will be very colorful... some of my favourite deco artists are coming for eclipse this year, those who made the deco for ozora festival amongst others... really some of the best out there for structures made out of fabrics. and yes we love fabrics you know why? because it allows us to create shadows for the people who dance in the burning sun at 11 am and all afternoon. some people don't like sunscreen, or are too high to think of it, or forgot it at home or whatever... well they enjoy the shadow. and fabrics make awesome shadows on the ground. and indoors well... i just tend to reuse the same concepts, because there is also another good point about fabrics is that they can be used in a lot of different ways, and they don't take that much space when they are stored. lots of psytrance parties have non-blacklight deco. i remember this stage from Boom festival... i wasn't there but i love their concept... i can't find a picture right now, but it was all made from recycled plastic bottles. and just do your research, there is a lot more than what you see just in montreal. lots of people use non-fluorescent fabrics to make shadows or tower structures, and then use lights to make different color effects. it's fun because it makes deco that constantly changes color all through the night. oh yeah also look up the deco from psy-mind last november. the whole room was covered with white lycra and lit up by colored projectors that were constantly switching colors, and those lasers that converge and diverge... i think you don't even really go to psytrance parties, you just make assuming judgements...... go out more before you speak like you know something about it... cause if you go to parties that are always organized by the same 2 promoters... chances are it won't be that different... because they don't really do parties to be different at this point. but some promoters actually put a lotof thought into their concepts. those promoters usually make one or two parties in a year. not one or two every month......

boom festival 2008, main floor. (yes a psytrance party and non-fluorescent deco. actually the biggest psy-trance party in the world i think... i still can't find the bottle-art though... still searching) Update » AYkiN0XiA wrote on Wed Jun 9, 2010 @ 9:40pm and for the clothes... well personally i don't care what people wear. i don't shop at psychonaut, i think the clothes there are nice, but also made for people who are looking for an easy way to look 'cool' and feel like they belong. i'm way passed that lol, but i know that it's like that for every music scene, there are 'cool' looks, trends that people follow.
i just like making clothes because i know no one will wear what i wear. and it's so much cheaper ;)

cool is overrated. everyone wants to be cool. no one or nothing really is. there will never be consensus.
cool is like beauty, it's in the eye of those who see it

not specifically hippies but there was another thread earlier about how vegetarians taste better... and since you were speaking about... "vegetated vaginas"?
[ www.rave.ca ] can't find something about females, but here is one study... “Seventeen male odor donors were on “meat” or “nonmeat” diet for 2 weeks wearing axillary pads to collect body odor during the final 24 h of the diet. Fresh odor samples were assessed for their pleasantness, attractiveness, masculinity, and intensity by 30 women not using hormonal contraceptives… Results of repeated measures analysis of variance showed that the odor of donors when on the nonmeat diet was judged as significantly more attractive, more pleasant, and less intense. This suggests that red meat consumption has a negative impact on perceived body odor hedonicity.”
