Don't know guys, seems like the same old dudes with dreads spinning the same old music about drugs and aliens while shitfaced on the same old drugs that they usually can't really handle, smelling the same, all acting the same. I've never even met most of the psy-hippies in this city but I don't really need to, I already mostly know their personalities already because they follow strict, psychotropically-assigned archetypes. I've been to tons of psy parties since 1999, that's why I stopped going actually. You are in fact talking to someone who used to book psy acts. I grew disillusioned with it because I noticed it was mostly just live PAs straight off of one big Cubase track prepared in advance or off of CDs. It's trance after all, you improvise too much and it doesn't keep people doing the hosen-scheisser dance all night.

Really nothing has changed. I went to a psy party once while I lived at William St. Same old shit. All that's changed is that you guys have even more nutjobs at your parties and that you charge even more at the door for shitty international acts nobody's ever heard of. Even the heads going to the parties. They really have no idea who anyone really is, they just act like they do.
I'm feeling shkombombolated right now..

OMG THANK YOU

Yea all the psy live act's are fake it's incredible.

I knew many international artists and worked with them in psy and they we're all prepping up a few tracks in ableton or cubase and just pressing play and faking the midi keyboard shit.

it was embarassing for me and for the scene

same old people who listen to the same old drum n bass breakbeats bashing the same old people who listen to the same old psytrance

what's new? what's original? certainly not you luke...
at least neuromyth is holding a position i have not seen before.

i don't know much about how to make music and i don't care that much for the moment because i'm in a whole other sphere of my life, building structures and stuff. but i've heard the guys from cosmic orgasm being really disillusionned about some psytrance headliners making fake live. you're probably right about most of them, but probably not all. i don't know what all of this is. personally i just enjoy the sounds, i don't care if it's live or pre-recorded, as long as the sounds are fun.

and... there are so many different people in the psy scene. i've seen strippers at psy parties. i've seen punks, i've seen hippies, i've seen preppies and kandi painting themselves with markers, i've seen... i don't know what to call that style, uh, urban? lol. it's just like any other perty except that there is blacklights.

Yeah defend it all you want, you know I don't really care, I'm sure you like to drink bongwater and hoop ecstasy so I'm not all that intimidated. Good point about drum and bass, it's pretty weak too. But I don't listen to it much. It's also incredibly formulaic and they use exactly the same sort of epic-synth stuff as psy tracks, made often on the very same synths. That's music though, you can do a lot with a $3000 synth. That is, if you stop using the presets and work on making your own sounds...

Which are incidentally all pre-recorded unless you feel like doing some on-the-fly ambient music. Truly live psy would be phenomenal to see, but I think like most artists they'd probably decide to opt out on excess luggage for overseas flights to places where nobody knows who they are.

Yeah, lots of people go to psy parties. But they don't get accepted into that tiny little elite of paranoid schizos who dominate the globabl psytrance scene. But as I was saying before the main contribution psy has in terms of fashion and general politcs is to dress like a flake who never washes and to flail your poi about every chance you get, never get a decent job, and basically drop acid too often to be useful to the world.

So go on, I suppose this is of course more cliché shit coming from me, I am after all such a cookie-cutter guy.
I'm feeling shkombombolated right now..

bongwater? weed makes me paranoid, i can't smoke that stuff anymore. esctasy? can't do that, it feels awesome for a couple hours and it makes me feel emo for a whole week after, i hate it. lol i do less drugs than most ravers. less than once a month. maybe once every 3 months. i'm actually really fucking straight because my work and studies require my concentration.

i do love to get loose and take LSD or shrooms in the summer festivals and i love hula-hoop and poi in my everyday life. everyone needs a release. movement makes life a more fun place.

and i don't know if you're cookie-cutter or what. was that sarcastic? i... think i saw you at the loft but i'm really not sure who you are. and who would i be to judge someone i don't know.

Making pre based judgements on individualized human beings is just as bad as you running around with a white robe over your head yelling kkk. in my books
I listen to psy trance alot, im not vegan, i like my baon, i dont have dreads im educated.. i mean im not anything your sterotyping someone to be
Its fucking music man seriously alot of people feel that way too.
I listent o all sorts and have a great passion for the genres i do listen to.
Hell most of the time im the sober bitch on the dance flor to boot

But let me tell you something if your vegan male/female your cum juice tatses better. That has been scientifically proven through research that your diet determines your flavour in your juices

So a vegan would taste better so long as they dont like spicy vegan food.

but enver the less i find it funny that a boy that just turned legal is thinking ts a smart move to go on a rtaver site and promote clubbing... which is just a neanderthols [ if we want to sterotype music scenes] grouped together fist puming and picking up chicks just to fuck while the girls are parading smelling vwegins peaking from thwere "dresses" which is just a glorified shirt and there herpes cream is tucked away in theire giant fake tits

Really generalizing a population is quite lame and untre and pole who are lame will be lame no matter what music they listen to. They are just a lame PERSON

C'mon, ride that wishy-washy wave of self-righteousnous. For someone equating judgements to such hateful and racist groups as the KKK, you certainly displayed an openminded and judgement-free spirit by calling the other guy and the club scene a bunch of 'fist-pumping neanderthal'. Enlightened! ;)

We ALL judge. Continuously, from one moment to the next. Most of which you are undoubtedly unaware of (again, we all are). Think about it. Without the ability to judge, how could you ever choose... well, anything? Like, today, should you don your Miley Cyrus t-shirt or rock your Jonas Brothers sweater? These things just don't sort themselves. Besides, it's kinda cool out, I'd wear the sweater.

Judging, in and of itself, represents neither good nor bad. It depends on the direction of intent by the person making said judgement. Towards a positive, balanced view or one full of negativity and discord.

Also, it appears as though you have a firm grip on the whole meat-eater/granola lovin' cum tasting thing. Maybe we should compare notes...
I'm feeling the schizzle! right now..

Cus peoples dont go to partys\raves to see a performance like they would at a blues or jazz show, they go to dance.

The only peoples that realy care about the "liveness" of the set are the peoples who are not dancing.

yeah... say you organize a party and you realize that the artists you just paid their plane ticket, food, and a certain amount of money, cocaine, booze, whatever else.
and all they do it pretend on stage... that's pretty decieving.... :/
but look at the people partying and they're giving out the energy no matter what. dancefloors are the best :)

The other artists? apparently not, hence this discussion.
The peoples who run the scene? maybe one day "the peoples that run the scene" will have enough money to pay for a real live and set up a real stage with a few real soundguys. That would be great, but I'm not holding my breath.
Bottom line is, the peoples that are paying for the ticket don't really care how live the music is, as long as the music is good, loud enough, and it doesn't stop.
