maybe just passionate? Which is fkn righteous =) But how do we measure truth ? If we are to look at all these scientific discourses that purport to be separated from 'faith' and from human fault, and say, 'well thats the gospel', invariably they will, in one way or another all rest upon one realm of inquiry, that of the philosophical, the love of wisdom. Its from this template that science gains its force and credibility, even its genesis is owed to it in at least some measure, though in practice theyre often seemingly so widely separated (seemingly..).So are we to say science is the be all and end all? cause it seems like one might be able to well to cut out the middle man if one were looking for the source.. though, definitely I would say
science has enriched sum aspects of life beyond measure, and there are deep truths to behold in it, no doubt.

Is that why theyre there? or is it because the dominant paradigm told us to be there? Those raucous southern neighbours with lots of guns who got attacked (which, with their foreign policy, was only a matter of Time) and where they lead, the north feels hard pressed to follow.. This is not to denigrate what has been a bitter sacrifice for too many, but lets honour them with a modicum of honesty.. and lets remember that their president, former advisor of unocal, was installed by those oh so lovely boots that marched in to 'protect' them. Lets not paint ourselves the heroes before we clearly assess our motives. Also, ya know, it IS possible that these 'selfish' stereotypes you call hippies Dont do drugs. I have met a lot of people who it would seem would have the criteria for being a hippie, and have never touched a drug in their life (pot more often than not doesnt apply..). So I fail to see how these sober, bohemian, earth-loving ppl - who own next to nothing in some cases- are selfish.. or do we attack them cause its easy?..

In a certain sense tho, I have to see the futility of disproving faith with science. I dont think science has claimed to disprove any religions or mystic doctrines. What it Has done is exposed dogmatism- the earth is flat, the center of the universe, yada yada. But science is not diametrically opposed to miracle, we can look at a star, and science can explain all these things about it; its a burning ball of gas, it actually imploded centuries ago, and other things, but that is Still Magic. The existence of H2O Is magic, its parts and its functions nothing less than a miracle. And science can fairly be viewed merely as a construing of Gods movements, a method of explaining them. A scientific wo)man can just be someone taking a rational approach to the mindbending properties of the universe, somehing thats totally commendable in my book. Im not particularly religious, but i think this polarization of science with 'faith' can have little to it ..

well from what I hear ppl criticize wikipedia as broadcasting a diluted version of any given topic's information, some people tend to (and 1 might say they have good reason to) view it as more of a blog rather than an objective source of information.. tho i dont pretend that i havent used it, it has helped me.. but ill let moondancer elaborate..

greg, anne marie, i think ppl on this site attack you-for the most part- because its Easy.
Which in the end speaks more to their character than it does to yours. I have a lot of love
for both of you, and its a shame; when emotions run deep so will the rift between ppl..

To get back to the original point of this thread (as it might be an idea to actually redirect our attention to the issues initially brought up) i do not know Sylvain well, but someone who
wantonly destroys deco in such a manner (if that is the case) obviously needs to heal.
I dont wish to misspeak of those i dont really Know, but I have met at least one person
who felt ill-used by Sylvain after a trip. It may be that his attitude can be a bitter pill
to swallow for some, which means you have to approach him differently.. If anne can do
that then go on i say..

xcuse you? those comments were DiSgUsTiNg, (but also who can say they have never made a foolish comment in bad taste?) and they ARE totally demeaning, I am in no way trying to justify them. and by the way if going to uni + working upwards of 60 hrs a week isnt acquainting yourself w busting your ass, i shudder to think what is.. id love to play a party and make a buck - not that I feel that it isnt hard work either (fail to see how deco setup cant be painstaking & xhausting too), or that someone w a bohemian vibe is by default lazy. anyway didnt mean to endorse those comments, sorry ya took it like that

um no, i did not say YOU were the egoist out for cash, ive never rly met you so cant say that to be sure, i just meant that you seemed to say hippie dancing all night was some indication of following a false dream, rather than being purely concerned with geting funds. Cause thats what we should be doin of course, dammit! But yeah, you should make enough for your equipment, but also of course djing is a risk, and not everyone comes out on top.. :D hehe and yes incendiary..which often goes hand in hand with sensationalism ;) -dam you and your big words, and your small, difficult words.'

Serious or not that was a shortsighted comment, and Im not just saying that cause my last name's Shalom. and kishmay, that works both ways, without us 'hippies dancing all night' (i assume 'hippy' is supposed to carry some negative connotation with it- as opposed to some rational egoist out for cash) there would be noone to play psychedelica to and get paid at all. Sure $ is one part, but if thats what ppl are gonna start harping on ill be much less glad to shell out anything to support em, i for one would be honoured to take ppl on a musical journey, and would ask nothing -aside from bare costs- more unless other djs were getting more (which means it could be afforded). If you dont have the same committment as indigoajna, das kool, but your vicious response shows u dont understand it either. And no aggressiveness intended, but fuck, theres no reason to be so reactionary.

I had a great time , definitely, but I have to say that I found eclipse 2005 better overall. To me the festival is all about the light and positive tunes, a purely joyful experience, and there was just too many dark sets for me to have gotten a true eclipse fix.. however I was really impressed with friday nights talent (and of course wrecked and Jaia torched it no doubt),a very pleasant surprise there, but I hope next year we can return to a genuine eclipse feel, like 2005. Great to have shared it with everyone, peace!
