Dude dude dude. Back up there to when you said hating on glowsticks is like saying poi is gay. I'm confused, because the latter statement is verifiably 100% true. Even gay people think so, they'll think you're coming out of the closet if you whip them out and they'll think that you're doing so in too much of a flaming and flamboyant way for them to have any interest in you.

You ever get dinged in the head by a makeshift pair of glowstick poi while trying to navigate through a room? No matter how many people act like they're so awesome with their poi skills that they won't hit me, I see almost everybody slip up at some point. I'd be impressed if you were doing it with fire but glowstick poi. Come on man. *shudder*

I feel ill.

Let's not get too weeaboo about this thread, Japan is a country with a huge population and many musical genres that are off our maps:

Guitar Wolf, a truly amazing garage band:

Nobukazu Takemura, a genius who had some truly amazing jazz/idm releases in the late 90s:

One of my biggest guitar influences, and an all around cool guy to hang out with, Tetuzi Akiyama:

Keiji Haino, the more "fashionable" noise master:

Taku Sugimoto, here in a typically understated duet with contemporary experimental artist Burkhard Stangl:

- if you watch any of this start it at 0:47 and turn off your monitor and lights, it's not easy to "get" this sort of austere improvised work

Woah oh oh! Not very ravey is any of that? Well the thread title was too open ended so I dropped some of my favourites from the land of the rising sun on you kids as if this was ihatemusic or something.

If people familiarize themselves with the artists writing the tracks rather than trying to classify several artists into a broad category I'm sure they'll start to have a better idea of exactly what to expect... inevitably you'll have all sorts of idiosyncrasies that are particular to one producer's sound, and then broader definitions that cover all the artists on one particular label, but the broader category covering all dubstep tracks etc follows a loose formula that is like the Platonic form of "dubstep".

It's like showing a chair to a person who has no familiarity with chairs and trying to get them to point out in a room full of chairs, benches, stools, and recliners which ones are chairs. They go "they're all fucking chairs, I don't like fucking chairs, I've got through my whole life without these things, and based on that shitty one you showed me the other day I don't think I need to sit down ever ok, besides I've been fine with this here wooden log for ages and I don't like how chairs are becoming more popular than logs". Well it's sort of like that. I think.

It's only appropriate since my name is Erik and the person who stared this thread goes by kire that I distance myself officially from his interest in PLUR by once again defining WHAM, a wholesome and more realistic alternative that is so hard to take on that it actually leads inadvertently to a carefree and pleasant vibe at parties minus pretense or nazi-like adherence to codes.

War
Hate
Anarchy
Malice

(look a rainbow)

It's the anti-PLUR, it's in great abundance, and since it more accurately reflects how people behave on excess amounts of drugs it also acts as a caveat for the naive ingenues of the so-called rave re-birth (which of course is more like the aftershock) who just want to be cool like their older siblings seemed to be to them back in the golly-gee fucking-whee rave days back there in the 90s or whatever shit-dicked era farted out all this pseudo-spiritual delusional filth that clouds out any rational thought as effectively as religion or politics.

It can also be represented by a photo of these guys:

Who will not only wake you up before you go-go, but will make you want to start a war, hate your neighbours, abandon all political beliefs and become a farmer, er wait, no I mean well... anarchy ok, and try to find mean and nasty ways to undermine your opponents, with malicious and ill intent. That's why they called themselves that. I will be forced to post all sorts of videos of WHAM if PLUR is brought up or discussed any more, you might as well talk about other expired notions like the idea that the world is flat or hollow or that sticking flowers in the ends of guns will keep you from getting torn to shreds by trigger happy counterstrike fans.

Anyway, good day to all of you and shut the fuck up.

All I want to know is, and I'm pretty certain of the answer, is did I make even one appearance in this film? If everything went according to plan I managed to entirely avoid being photographed or filmed by Antonio in any way shape or form. It wasn't even very hard. The art of tactful avoidance and much less tactful walking away from him when he once tried to introduce himself.

Anyway, I think we've all learned a lesson here. Anybody can make a fucking movie, and almost anybody can get a grant. After all, someone paid Tommy Wiseau to make "The Room".

So what if all the effeminate countries have good health care, how does this relate to the average woman's sexual preferences?

Belgium for fuck's sakes... it's not that great a place.

You gotta be like Mario to get the chicks. Do a lot of jumping and kicking ass and eat mushrooms all the time so that you still have a sensitive and flaky side that likes rainbows and you get yourself a princess. However the issue that it bears mentioning is that the sort of women you hook up with this way tend to be sort of useless and keep getting kidnapped by the same guy.

Not only is this the best cover-up ever for a long-term affair with a lizard but the lizard is faced with the harsh reality that no matter how many spiralling spiked dildos he tries to kill the protagonist with, women still seem to always go for ginos.

Oh hi guys,

If you want to know what's holding me back from doing anything I have a little list here that I will present in total candour:

1) My computer is dying slowly, the video card is fried on a Macbook Pro I bought in 2006 (year of the faulty battery) and it has drank about two beers by now and one heavy object - so no new tunes for ages, but there is hope. Seven/four crashed my computer before it got all busted up, so I wonder if it being busted up will make it easier.

2) I couldn't hang on to my job (or my hat) because the winter was so depressing I totally lost my shit, and now I am scrambling by on not-enough-money-to-throw-parties-or-go-to-them.

3) Every time I've tried to throw a bash I've had people criticize me on putting it on the same date as some other party doing another style of music altogether, and in fact this last time I ran into a problem where the general lack of communication between like-minded breakcore fans made it so that we had a party conflict between the only two parties of that nature thrown last year. This was horribly disappointing because ideally we would be working together, but I'm just not in a position where I can put as much effort into it as some other people. I have to throw parties once in a blue moon because I do not have the stamina for regular events, and I don't have the money to go out, and most importantly, because I like sleep and I'm really sick of doing drugs, which even at a good event is the only way I can keep from having anxiety attacks.

I agonize over scene politics. I take people not coming when they swear they will personally - especially when I find out they went to another generic event that happens every week, featuring entirely local people. I have a breakdown the night after the event. I can't mix my own tracks worth a shit because I have zero time while promoting to practice and my computer is fucked. I worry about holding a job when I have to try to book sudden three-day holidays, then sure enough lose the job because of three day weekends. I freak out when I find myself designing the flyer myself and then people hold the damn thing upside down and fold it in half before stuffing it into a nondescript pocket. I cry when turntables fail right before the headliner goes on, and he has to go off of winamp and one table. I want to die when people I've known for years are too self-important to stick around and instead mull around at the door just so they can see what the event looks like and say hi to a friend who's djing instead of having the respect to stick around.

There's this underlying elitism that you have to crack through to get respect, people talk shit left and right and then smile to your face, and quite frankly I say fuck that. Fuck having people only show up at 1:30am because they think it's the hip time to show up, wasted silly and basically not really listening to what's going on, just criticizing, criticizing, criticizing. That vibe at other parties where we've all hung out together but for some reason I get respect if I go to your show but you wouldn't be caught dead at mine... hmm... plus I'm supposed to check what other events are on that night when I know quite well most of the people attending it are just not able to deal with 225 bpm clusterfuck for the ears? I know I won't see certain people and it makes me a bit sad because they wind up not getting where I'm coming from, however, that's how it goes.

Anyway I didn't call my events WHAM for nothing. I don't believe in kissing asses or trying to be some sort of diplomat for false values.

THE WORLD IS AT WAR.
EVERYBODY HATES EVERYTHING.
AN ENCROACHING STATE OF ANARCHY.
WHAT IS LEFT BUT MALICE?

Yeah you heard me. Breakcore exists to make fun of your pathetic cliché ridden scenes, and the people who don't get it usually still take "all inside the place" and "on the ones and twos" seriously when we all know MCs sound like fucking apes doing that shit. Breakcore is a mixture of electroacoustics (plunderphonics particularly) and old-school hardcore tomfoolery with a decent dose of amen-rushing rinseout jungle thrown in for good measure. How could you not like that? Can't dance to it? I CAN DANCE TO BREAKCORE. YOU CAN'T. SO PLAY SAFE. (ie stay home and hide under the covers, maybe call your mom)

And honestly I am very grateful for all the bigging up of Pin:ksox and our event there in November. It was a great success, and I was a great depressed. Took me a long time to acknowledge that all those fans existed. By the way though... I call my promotion crew Miasma, and I was fifty percent of the event. Pin:ksox is technically Jackson's half but hey, the name is way better. So I think you can expect us to further forge that TO-MTL peace connection with parties named after horrible things.

Peas!

Oh and I do plan to be at this event, and I do indeed plan to forge that connection.
