I think you can find any song you want on pay sites as .WAV files. Show me songs you didn't find, I'm curious about that.

I download a shitload of mp3's, but I don't play them at parties.

Always buy your .WAV files, they DO the difference, for you and for people listening to you.

They are constantly looking for new crew. You have to do a 2 weeks training in Quebec City and you're in !
To become a captain/ engineer is another story, but to become a regular crew ( cook, cleaning, general maintenance, painting, etc) all you have to do is the marine emergency response course.

They are currently hiring right now.

you basically work a full month and get a month off. you stay around the st-lawrence river, but sometimes have to go in labrador, newfoundland and such.

And maybe now the owner will take the opportunity to renovate the place into luxury condos.

Th minutes "new talent" cut round corners, the whole output gets changed. And then you got the living room deejays hating on the actual pro's cuz they set standards that no living room puppet-dejay can live up to. So then we have some people with questionable talent telling new comers to not follow the rules so they don't get bettered by newly arriving dejays.

Let me make it simpler.

Breathe wants the deejaying artform to grow.
Cbjsex (and others I could name at least 10) want YOU(Kire and new dj's) to be low quality deejay, so THEY (CJB and the others) still look good without having to actually put effort and still get pussy.

Get it?

Eyh,

- How am I telling Kire to be low quality by suggesting him to buy CD's or original WAV files ??

- So by telling someone to try upgrading his sound quality, I'm encouraging the scene down. Wow. Funny !

Seriously, it's old pill poppers like you who are bringing this forum and community down. Your constant bad mood is amusing at best, but not really of any help.

Breathe is an awesome Dj, he's been around for years, yeah, no one denied that, but if you read carefully he simply told the OP to 'FUCK OFF'.

What a good way to encourage the scene and make it stronger.

I would rather Kire listen to 'stupid new comers' like me who actually have been doing music since childhood and give CONSTRUCTIVE advices to people, then to the K-holed retard dude who was begging me for help at New Year's party cause his brain was frying ( yup just looked at your pictures, you were indeed that dude in the sofa right next to me acting like a pure retard).
Your credibility resumes to your bad ass attitude on this forum. Kick ass !!

As for your interest, regarding your remark on pussies, I have been dating the same girl for the past 4 years, and never dated girls HALF my age like some creeps have actually done here.

Dj's really shouldn't be playing out mp3's, To learn... fine.. but to sit there and think your going to make any significant positive impact on the community by promoting lesser values is ridiculous.

The sheer amount of free dj's out there these days is astonishing and the fact we're even having this discussion about mp3's and jbl's is testament to the utter disgrace since management has become. There's a fuckton of people out there just waiting for promoters to get their shit together with proper sound systems and djs rocking proper sounding material. Don't underestimate yourselves. People do care and these things play a large part in the choices they make as party goers....cuz it aint just simple house parties anymore, you know ?

Hi,

with all due respect, beeing a DJ is nothing special. Anyone can be a DJ.

This is like typowriter complaining about internet becoming big, in 1994.

there's nothing thriving or profitable about beeing a Dj.

The whole game changed, get used to it, or get sour and make stupid comments on internet forums.

some tracks that are around 190 actually sound crystal clear as opposed to some other tracks that are 320 + don't sound as good at all. originals and all, i have very good headphones too so i can hear any imperfection, but i wanted to know if it was just an illusion or something, that even if it sounds clear and perfect it will sound different on a large sound system.

i'd rather be safe than sorry ^^

i honestly just want to get it right, its not just simple house parties anymore, you know ?

Hi,

it doesn't have to be a very big system to make a difference. On Desktop speakers, you can hardly make the difference between 192 and 320.

But on Noah's JBL speakers ( which you are probably refering to) It will make a real difference. The percussions will sound clearer, the leads will be brighter, the bass will be tighter etc.

The best is to get the original CD or buy the WAV files.

there are sites like Beatport or Juno Download that sell WAV files for a good price.

As for some tracks @ 192 sounding better than other tracks @ 320, it's all a matter of the original track, was it properly mastered? Does it sound like crap to begin with? What is the original source.

Some russian mp3 sites sell ' 320 kbps' mp3 files which are actually 192 kbps transformed into 320.

So always buy your music from legit sources.

Hope it answers your question !

I have a fairly solid music background, but when it comes to percussions I'm a perfect n00b.

I really need ( and want) to learn about those.

So Bad_Chemistry, you're saying that you put some of your percussions very slightly off-beats to make it more realistic ? Is that what you mean ?
As for the velocity, you really change it manually on random percussions ?
Sounds like a non-efficient and very time-consuming way to me... ( Altough I don't know really other ways to do it :P )

Sounds interesting.

Databoy,

Can you name many rave promoters who have been in the rave business for years and making significant money ???
I don't know any.

Some raves end up with good gains, then your next event with a big loss.

It's all random.

Frankly, I don't give a fuck about doing money with the parties I do. I've got a good job and don't need to stress to know if my party is going to break even or not.

How many promoters really make money from the parties they organise? 3 out of 10 ?
How many earn a living from it ? none ?

Each free party we organise I 'loose' on average 50-60$. No big deal. How much is a ticket to a big rave? 40$ ? 50$ ?
