I started this thread because there are a bunch of spots where we could hold parties, like the Boucherville Islands, or the piste cyclable along the saint-lawrence seaway.

but these places are hard to reach by public transit.

So I'm wondering if it's worth it, I mean will people show up or not ? ( Assuming you like the line up )

As much as I respect the organisers and promoters of this party, I think the lack of orginality killed it.




As for the hardcore scene, I used to be a hardcore fan and think psytrance sucked.



But then I realised the hardcore people didn't care about the rest and wanted to stay in their little gang, very closed to the rest.

The scene was very closed to newcomers for a long time, holding small almost private events.

It eventually died due to lack of new blood.

There are at least 2 raves every week-end ( sometimes more), there is a psy trance night tuesday, sometimes another one thursday, there is a dubstep night wednesday... etc

With such a vast array of events, with the vast majority 20$ or less ( even free) it's hard to justify a 40$ price for the same dj's you can see at all the other events every week.

Let's say you have the choice between going to a well known location close to a Métro, or a new and refreshing location far from a Métro, what do you prefer ?

So I went back to the site today, and to my greatest surprise THERE WERE ALMOST NO BEER CANS OR BOTTLES LEFT.

There were at least 4 scavengers on the site collecting every single can or beer bottles!!

They cleaned the place and were very happy about it !!

I deal with the police at the beginning of the party to make sure it was not going to get busted.

I made it clear this was not about gangs, drugs violence etc.

They thought our project was awesome and encouraged it.

They took my phone number, and would call me any time someone made a complaint so we could ajust out volume etc.

Thanks to the SPVM for letting us do this party !

We counted the attendance at around 3H00 AM and estimated there were AT LEAST a 1000 people on site, probably more considering all the people around in the bushes or small hills.

Noah, The place has always been a dump, When I was going there younger there were people burning tires and playing hockey with rusty spray paint cans.

i'm not saying it's good to have thousands of beer cans and bottles everywhere, but there was already a fair load of garbage from all the years of abandonement.

That said, I'm right next to the spot right now and will go have a look this afternoon.

To be honest, this was suposed to be indoor, but our indoor location is currently used by a SWAT team for training.
This was totally unplanned and the timing was bad.

This won't be a beach party, but I feel totally confortable organizing the party where it will be.

If I tought it was not realistic, I would have simply cancelled it.

Dans les provinces atlantique, il pleut en moyenne tous les jours.

Si il ne pleut pas 2-3 jours, c'est un miracle.

Les plants ne peuvent donc pas accumuler de bons taux de THC.

Il y a du outdoor très respectable qui pousse au Québec. Ce n'est pas le cas ici!

Nova Scotia sucks. They don't have a proper climate for growing weed, so most of the good weed is imported from Qc, thus more expensive, or local weed is very poor, low THC content and very harsh taste.

C'est un événement ouvert à tous, mais vu que c'est plus ou moins légal j'essaie de seulement inviter les gens 'initiés' à la scène...

En gros le but, c'est que les détails sur l'événement n'atterisse que dans les oreilles de personnes bien intentionnées ( exemple, pas des policiers...)
