I listen to hardcore, like 20/7,
the rest is happy. but i woUldn't go to a clUb no way. anyways, whatever, pcp, mescalinum United, who really gives a fUck. i dont. i jUst like it. so what i'mb almost split between the 2, so shoot me...bUt think, hardcore is hUge in the netherlands so i coUld see why it woUld work there, bUt i don't drink so i woUldn't have fun at a bar, hardcore or not. bars in my opinion dont have mUch of a vibe whereas parties do. im not mUch of a bar/clubb hopper no matter what the mUzac.

okay maybe most "bars" and "clubs" Don't have the same vibe as a rave but they do have diffrent kinds.
Like at hatters, around 2:45 near last call, just about everyone in the bar is pissed drunk and its got its own kind of vibe.
So yeah a club wouldnt be the same as a rave but it would still have the music that we love. man i would like dance in a barber shop if it had hardcore playing.

heh, that hatters vibe is totally the best. It starts at around 2 when everyone is holding everyone else up and everyone is screaming along to whatever is playing, totally off key and not rememebering the words.. :P

I don't like gabber because it takes all the good elements from the PCP sound and turns it to cheesy crap... and that goddammn 6:4 structure is driving me insane! They make their Junos sound like laser guns (Thrillseeka-style - yuuuuuk) and base ALL their tracks on the most obvious movie samples, it's just too formulaic!

obviously there is good and bad examples of every style of music. i'm very picky when buying newstyle, i think most of it is cheesy.. but most of the promo and enzyme stuff is great, and the early newstyle from 99/00.. i like oldstyle the most though. old mokum, ruffneck, h2oh.. that's party music.

e-coli, you must like de2001 stuff as well? that's one of my fav labels. miro - purple sun, rave creator etc.. great stuff.

Yeah, there's a few amazing tracks on Dance Ecstasy 2001, like the Reign stuff ("Hall" and "Time Machine" are classics), but also a lot of stupid songs (Ace The Space, Nasty Django, Masters of Rave... you can see where the Dutch got their inspiration)

One of my favourite PCP sublabels is Future World, which is basically Miro taking the old Mover sound and adding some awesome production around it, with killer tracks like "Move My Bod-E" and "Master Of The Universe". Too bad there's only 3 releases on that label.

9 mm is a classic! i like the nasty django stuff too.. they are both moniker's for acardipane anyway. he has done a wide variety of projects. the cold rush series is wicked too..

i don't really think pcp is a direct influence on newstyle though. gabber started out a lot slower, but around 91-92. then the speed gradually increased.. the dutch producers conciously decided they could have more power in their tracks if they lower the speed and focused more on the kicks.. although pcp has always been really popular in the netherlands along with gabber, so maybe they shared influence. lord tekken from toronto has talked to a lot of dutch producers about this, and could probably write an esay about it.

Not buying records because the producer is fascist is like not eating meat because the animals are killed in a very crual way. You won,t make a difference by not buying it. If you like it buy it

Exactly. The only time I don't like the music is :If it sucks or :If it promotes something that I'm against. If it promotes facism, I wouldn't listen to it. But if it doesn't and it sounds good, who cares what the beliefs of the person behind it are.
Which is why I can't STAND P.O.D. Buncha bible-boys.

obviously this dipshit has never heard of United Gabbers Against Racism and Facism, which most dutch gabber labels are a part of. And gabber is alive and well. It's actually bigger than it has ever been before. While I prefer the older sounds as well, the new stuff is still very good compared to most euro-garbage.
