Eurogabber

| What I meant is that gabber (the cheesy melodic stuff - not hardcore) has this euro-kitch aura around it (kind of like eurodance and all european pop, the likes of which you're likely to hear on TV5 on a Sunday afternoon) which makes it impossible to become popular in North America. |

| i like gabber, but it's true, hardcore equals not euroGabber. even though i like gabber better. |

| umm Wisp
just so you know marc acardipane = Eurogabber. |
|
Coolness: 55405
| Marc Acardipane is indeed responsible for the dutch "newstyle" sound, but his classic stuff from the early days (1990-94) has nothing to do with gabber. It used to be called Phuture-techno, and it's still amazing (ex: Cold Rush records, Mescalinum United, and The Mover).
Of course, his new stuff is a load of bollocks! |
|
Coolness: 144235
| ya...but i'm talking about when he was mescalinum united. that was the sheeeeeeet. |
|
Coolness: 63450
| marc acardipane = PCP
the founder and main producer of planet core productions, most dutch and european gabbers will recognize his pioneering sound as PCP hardcore.
similar artists miro, dr macabre, tschabos..
i have never heard the term eurogabber before.. reminds me of eurodance or something. |

Coolness: 63450
| "Marc Acardipane is indeed responsible for the dutch "newstyle" sound"
he's never produced newstyle. try paul elstak, neophyte, and stunned guys, among others. |

| So how many people on this board like hardcore ?

|
Coolness: 116300

|
Coolness: 60845
| Pat
would you gotto a Hardcore Club
Like Nexus style ? |
|
Coolness: 116300
| im not really into clubs or drinking when lsitening to hardcore... i dunno not my thing really but i could go, i wouldnt enjoy it just because i dont like bars or clubs |
|
Coolness: 60845
| but why ?
i don't get it
Im not into the whole club thing either. But if there was hardcore in crescent street i wouldnt let any of the genos stop me from going. |
|
Coolness: 276440
| but there wouldnt be because that wouldnt work that club wouldnt make money.. not enough of a market for it.. maybe if there was different music on different nights but something like that isnt for cresent, its for like st.laurent |
|
Coolness: 60845
| im just using crescent as an example.
Theres lots of hardcore clubs in europe, so i don't see why can't we have any.
If we Play it, people will listen. |
|
Coolness: 55405
| Acardipane has never procuced newstyle, but today's dutch sound is directly influenced from PCP (downtempo, loads of reverb, juno and oberheim with loads of chorus, and handclaps on every beat) |
