I if understand correctly, when you say ''It's the 2nd party that I throw'' it means ''It's normal that it was crap why can't you all shut up?''... well, no, people never shut up about shitty parties it's a reality of life. It's because they want to have fun and pay to go at your party and then, when it's crappy, they complain about it on forums like this one (also to their friends, parents, employers, God, Allah or whatever, and to your mother). I was not there at your party, I don't even know what the name was or who you are exactly, and I guess you don't have a clue who I am and why I'm posting here. Well here's why: crappy promoters are flooding every area of the scene since forever. When one loses 4000$ and retires to go back and live happily with his mom, 10 others come forward and throw badly organized parties, it's almost like a comptetition of shame. I can't believe you booked a guy playing CDs, and I can even less believe you let him go over his timeslot even though the very crowd that paid a fee to be there happened to be reacting negatively.

It's utter crap. If you want to throw parties out of passion and love for the scene, the music or whatever, put attention in your product, have some balls and put them into it. Quality man! Don't you like quality?

I'm sorry, but that's definitely not an excuse to let this kind of thing happen. The 2nd party me and 2 of my very close friends threw was Rainbow Trip 2. Massive event, a few hitches which are to be expected when you do this kind of thing, but for the most part the night went like clockwork and all the Dj's played their respected time slots (except for Samwise who had to sacrifice himself at the end ;( -but that was out of out control.
We feel we got very positive feedback because we acted like professionals and treated all out Dj's and staff with respect. Try it, it works wonders ;)

My 2 cents/

And you just fuel to the fire by dissing Melodrastik. Good job, genius. If you can't deal with criticism ( and learn from it ), maybe you need to stop throwing parties. Good promoters will apologize for such situations and promise to keep an eye on this next time. But no, you preferred to be immature about it and bitch at everyone who's discussing your party negatively.

Promoter fail. Don't quit your day job.

Note : learning from your mistake is fine and dandy but it's all in van if you can't be professional about it

I'm feeling merci la vie !!!!! iiiiiii right now..

Sinon keep on doing what you're doing, the more partys the better

For the tecord, the party was quite fun... definitely on the low-end of what can be done with a psychedelic rave but not bad in any respect. My only beef is with a DJ who decided to suck up all the air for himself and completely disregard respect, musical progression, the promoter, the ravers, etc...
K-DZO did ask Psyrenity to cede his place a few times, but the Fife just kept Trancin', and I don't blame him for not getting his hands dirtier than that... you know at times I really wanted to just physically prevent the guy from putting another CD in or just turn the mixer off and start clapping (sarcastically but the peeps wouldn't know the diff), but that only punishes the party people you know? They did nothing wrong. I'm not a violent guy, I'm actually very understanding most of the time. I think the difference with me when I throw parties is that I'm teddy bear until someone crosses the line, then I become a shark... not everyone is willing to let themselves get like that though...

I totally know what you mean. I'm all about respecting the vibe of the party - to a point. I like to the consumate professional and not let anything get in the way of people having a good time. I don't want to be associated with any bad vibes.

but in your case, turning the mixer off and clapping would be perfectly necessary, imho. the crowd is being punished by his wack attitude. by politely but firmly ushering him off, it teaches them a lesson in DJ etiquette.

believe me I've had that exact same situation , where I was supposed to be up next, but a trance DJ tried to brush me off and told me he couldn't stop because he was "building a vibe". he was already 5 minutes overtime. I just said, "I'll let this track roll out for another minute or two, and then I'm up". end of story. you gotta be firm with people like that. you give em an inch, they'll take a mile
