"victory has a 1000 fathers but defeat is an orphan" seriously had this come off and lasted even for a bit longer everyone would have been patting themselves on the back taking credit but because it failed (so people say) mickos has take all the blame because he has supposedly 'killed' a spot, lame. Wtv, like i said i'll be hot for a while but not forever... let's be honest 4 sounds, it was a little over ambitious, but isn't that what's cool about mickos' thing, the sort of never ending 'reaching' of it, bigger and better all the time, more lunatic more mayhem higher and higher more obscene. 'he killed the spot' cry me river, find a new one, come back to it later...it's not the end of the universe... |

 Coolness: 77345 | K, so I wasn't at this Epic Coalition as I was in Toronto this weekend, but from what I understood of the french speakers some shit went down and the party was busted.
Honestly, shit happens. To those blaming it on the promoter I say: Shut the Fuck Up. From my experiences at past Epic Coalitions Mikos has his shit together and he throws a good party. (Correct me if I'm wrong: I believe it was Noah helping out??) Needless to say Noah also knows what the fuck he's doing. It's sad, I used to love going to Montreal for parties, you guys had a GREAT scene when I was more involved, now everytime I log on to my ravewave I'm faced with so much disappointment. What happened to the people I knew? The Montreal scene had it's bits of drama just like any other scene did, but in the end, you all looked out for one another. We all gang up and troll cutterhead on this site, and we all knows he deserves every bit that comes to him, but why is it that a party gets shut down all of a sudden everyone swarms and are the first to blame it on the promoters? I'm starting to think that most of you aren't happy unless you're bringing someone else down. That hurts a lot, the scene I remember was fun loving ravers out to have fun with their friends and meet new ravers, out to enjoy the music, and dance our asses off, if a party got busted, big deal, it got busted, that's when we'd break off into our separate groups and have our own get togethers. The thing that gets me the most is how ungrateful so many of you have become. These FREE parties are free for you, the ravers. It still costs money to put on these shows, most of that money comes out of your promoter's pockets. As a Promoter myself I know that feeling when one random raver comes to me and says: "Thank you, I can't wait till the next one" with a big smile on their face. It's a feeling that could be compared to someone that considers you their role model. Stop being ungrateful bitches and thank your promoter for doing this for you. Yeah the party got shut down but at least he tried to give you guys a good time! In no way am I saying that the kids that thought it was smart to be throwing bottles around was a good idea, but I am going to point out that every one of you has said: "They were just random kids, not ravers." NEWSFLASH GUYS: This is the new generation of ravers being born. They need guidance instead of people just giving them dirty looks and judging them for being stupid. They need to learn PLUR. I don't care if you believe PLUR is dead or not, we need to be role models and teach these kids the stuff we wanted all along. Don't teach them to be jaded or the "since will die" FOR GOOD. In Ottawa, we've embraced these "kids" they are our new generation looking for guidance. Ottawa's scene is growing more every single event that passes. We have numerous promoters out here, but instead of tearing one another down they're being constructive and working together to keep our scene growing. Take the hint Montreal, Rave drama is sometimes unavoidable but don't air your dirty laundry out on a public forum, and don't put all the blame on others when you are just as wrong. Sometimes all it takes is that one old schooler to say "hey guys, you're gonna get us shut down and then we're not going to have anyplace to party." Then maybe have a chat with them, ask them why they came to the rave, teach them little things, or else your scene will die and it will stay dead. /end rant |

There is nothing covert about organizing something on private property that can be easily be scene on google street view. Not to mention there was train yard across the street as well a large business with 24 surveillance and security. Anything at this spot that went off without a hitch in the past was honestly a downright lucky fluke. And a fluke with much lower expectations than this. 4 stages, tents, sound systems and 1500 ppl was aiming a little bit too high if you ask me. We live in city of 3 million people where housing is limited, let alone cool outdoor spots to throw an allnight party. If the organizers have the power to bring together 4 soundsystems/ stages and 1500 people to some ghetto ass toxic dumping ground on the south side of the canal imagine what they could of pulled off with a little bit of foresight, a shuttlebus and a little more organization. Anyway... I went out expecting to see a shit show and I got it without having to spend a penny, so my expectations were met in full. Good job!!! And on a lighter note... I'd like to vote R4k4koon for GAYEST AVATAR EVER!!!! A ROLLERBLADE SPREAD EAGLE BOOT GRAB!!!! Are you for real dude? Please tell me it's a joke and you don't actually participate in such a TALENTLESS activity as "aggressive inline skating" 15 years too late. It's a dead sport for a reason y'know. |
