Sacha can sometimes be overwhelming, but he's really respectful. Now mind you, you can't tell him not to pick up the mic, but he will ask you questions during the set like "is this track yours?" and then big it the fuck up for the crowd. That's what an MC should do. I used to find him a bit odd but I understand him better now, and honestly he can get people paying attention or dancing where they want to stand around scratching their chins. |

It's a protest against the MCs that jump around too much, and don't know when to shut up. I have serious beef with some MCs... not all of them, 'cause some are respectful... but I've played gigs where they just plug their mic in without asking if it's ok... fuck off... I once let a guy check and set all his levels and right when he signaled to me that he was ready to go, I reset everything and unplugged him. "If I want vocals - then I'll play tracks with vocals." He was pretty pissed and asked why I let him go through all the trouble of getting his shit set up... I told him it was because I knew he'd never try to pull that shit on me again. (for the record - this was in Winnipeg... so it wasn't a Montreal MC)... |

I wasn't there the night in question but I do know that Jesse had something devastating on his mind and I totally imagine him not even thinking about the conversation he was having with you... that doesn't excuse it in any way, but I do believe him when he told me that he really didn't understand what was going on. He told me specifically that if you had said in no uncertain terms: "In my opinion, you agreed to pay me 20$ AND cab which means a total of 40$." He would have paid you, not be happy about it, but in his opinion he thought you were just bitching in general... maybe it was your french or your english and again, it doesn't excuse what happened, but it does kinda explain it better. jesse's not a 'I'll screw you over if I can" kinda guy afaik |
