They did... I actually went to work because I didn't want to get fired. I explained the situation to my boss.. I was going in the back (toilet) every 10 minutes. She came right at me and told me in these exact words :

" You're spending too much time in the back, you better stay in the front or leave. But if you leave, don't even think of coming back. "

even though i had alot of fun and good stories, working has a mascot while a mascot festival for a week was horrible

middle of summer, working 6 am to 9 pm for 5 days and being paid 125$ at the end under the table, yeah not worth it.

Almost died of dehydration, kids kicking you in the legs, jumping on your heavy big lion head.

ugh, sometimes you make a child smile and you say, yeah ok it's worth it, just to turn around and having this teenager blowing all his cigarette smoke in your costume...

good times

+ try to work like this hangover, hahah, crazy times

I also work once at a pet shop, under the table again since i was 15. A pet shop specialise in birds... All fucking day, washing bird poop and their cages

awww, glad it's all over now!
I'm feeling kiss me, im shitface right now..

in that case, you should've stayed in front and puked all over the place.

your boss: 'what the fuck!'
you: 'well, you told me not to go in back or i'd lose my job.. but i lost my lunch instead'

---

working in depanneurs was a shit job. i'd die of starvation before going back. same goes for any telemarketing type jobs.

DJing in a ghetto bar for rapsters in the 'shlag had it's shitty moments too...
I'm feeling you up right now..

Funny how the richer your employer is, the shittiest the job and pay. Rich people have no compassion.

That's ok, it's reciprocal. >:)

I worked for Italians at a fish market in Jean Talon just recently. They not only weaseled me out of an hourly rate by asking me what I wanted per week, but kept asking for more. I got $500 gross for 50-60 hour work weeks, paid by week but still a rip-off considering that my daily activities consisted of:

- Having to be there for opening and closing of the store (10-12 hour days) then being asked to do extra work on top of it, for no increase in pay
- Having to play the "pass-the-bill" game (my sister does that, no actually it's my other sister you have to talk to, no it's actually the first guy you talked to's job, etc.) every time I wanted to inquire about whether or not my hours were actually being tolled, even though I had to punch in every day for every break
- Having to thoroughly clean the deep fryers every morning
- Having to work every rush on that fryer, most of the time alone, for less than $12 an hour to remind you
- Being expected to come in on Monday to clean up the whole section I worked in while everybody else got to slack off and just sell fish
- Being demanded to take on a chef's role and organize that whole section at that shit rate, and then having my entire idea shot down every time because the other workers "didn't do it that way last year"
- It was a fish shop, so yeah, fishy smells, grease and oil on my clothes, flour on my shoes, no uniforms...

And we had mice, and the manager was such a fucking elderly flake psych patient she would start screaming and make everybody hunt the damn thing down for hours while she would stand on a chair freaking out. Anyways, Ramsay would have had that place shut down in a hurry. It was an embarrassment going into that sort of stupidly-managed shit after years as line and garde-mangé cook.
I'm feeling mighty frisky right now..

Freezing chicken breasts @ 6$/hour, 12h shifts in St-Janvier (WTF)

Either I slapped raw chicken breasts from a 4t container onto a conveyor belt, received 'em at the end of the conveyor belt to drop em onto another which misted water to avoid frost burn or I weighed 15kg boxes and package the damned things.

I rarely packaged... always had my damn hands in the fucking pile of chicken, that shit stinks when in large quantities. The other end sucked just as much ass, I almost had hypothermia cuz the conveyor that misted broke which caused all my clothing to get soaked... Did I mention it was between -5 and -10°C in that fucking shop? Also my uncle was the foreman, so he gave me shit when I went to ask him if I could take the rest of the night off after freezing my ass off in wet clothes for over 2 hours.
Also, the ladies in the shop would pop Brittney Spears constantly, the only break my ears got was when the boys slapped on the black album.

I still eat chicken, but Flamingo I try to avoid :P

------------------------------------------------------------

V2-1: I dont agree, Wyeth treated me damn well compared to both employers I've had since I quit. Garda was bad, but this new company that got our contract isn't even 10% as big as Garda yet I get treated even worse... They lowball everyone, dock people hours on their pay, forget to give you the bonus for night shift or any special training (i.e.: first aid, fire safety, SIMDUT, etc) and they systematically focus on flaws and a competitive environment as opposed to working as a team and encouraging employees who work well.

In fact, every small place I've worked for was complete BS. Wether it's (in)Saine Marketting, Les Aliments Fédérés or any of the jobs I just dumped after 2 weeks, they all treated their employees like crap. Heck I got fired from this PoS survey place for being 2-3 minutes late 3 times in 2 weeks, I was #1 in completions after my first week... GG.

I have a theory. The poorer the employer, the poorer the lower management. The poorer the lower management, the poorer their leadership skills and brains. That makes for very unhappy workers with a Napoleon complex retardo for a boss... and very small pay.

Then again there is always the exception, but those are all professional, we'Re talking jobs here, not careers.
I'm feeling no more stress! right now..
