OK so here is the deal... Having the music at the mountain is not going to happen. They are destroying the gazebo and moving it. My other location which is next to the volleyball courts will not work either cause they will be redoing the whole area, and extending the courts to be the full thing. Also digging and stuff to make it nicer. They seem to have a nice plan for the mountain, but the plan does not involve us. In theory we can fight for a new event to happen on the mountain but it will take about 2 years to do that. We can start the process and see what happens. Because the mountain is a heritage site, it's a lot of voting between the different heritage groups and it's basically a waste of time to even try, but I'll try.
Possible locations are Promenade Bellerive or Jarry Park. The Promenade Bellerive is a definite yes, but I asked to see if we can use Jarry Park instead and they will get back to me. One thing I want to know is would people prefer every Saturday or every Sunday. It's possible to do something on both days so I need to choose the day which you guys would think would be the best. The Jarry Park location could hold about 300 people, The Promenade Bellerive can have over 2000 people. Jarry Park is in the middle of the city (kind of), while Promenade Bellerive is looking the water, has a lot of picnic tables and a huge stage but is in the east end. A nice thing about Promenade Bellerive is that there is nothing happening in that whole area which means lots of potential for people to come. Because of the huge space, this could be interesting. There is storage space for our equipment in both places which means we don't have to travel all the time with the equipment. Another possibility is Parc Maisoneuve... But they said there are lots of things happening there also. Let me know!

interesting...bellerive sounds nicer; and sundays are more...traditional. so it'd be nice to keep it sundays.
there'a also parc laFontaine (the location is ideal), but i guess it's a little too overrun by humans on a regular basis... keep it up noah :)
I'm feeling you up right now.. |

Parc LaFontains is a no go cause the park is too small. We would have to stop at 5pm if we used that park. I'm looking to goto 11pm...

Although Promenade Bellerive sound very nice, it would be an ordeal for people that live in the West.

I remember talking about this with Noah last summer and my view hasn't much changed since ...
People will usually get there in the morning or afternoon and stay until way after it's dark, so what if you need to ride the metro for 30-45 minutes to get there? It's a free event/service provided for people to gather, chill, and have a good time on week-ends. If one hour of your time is too much to ask for it, maybe spending the day on your couch with a couple of beers would be a better way to go. I used to take a 3 hour bus ride that cost me 56$ just to come to Montreal and party for the week-end, on top of tickets and stuff. West-side/East-side isn't going to kill anyone.
