Exact same thing happen to me. I went a little too far with the drugs and alcohol though, to the point where I would wander the streets around berri trying to score drugs, and blow all my cash in afterhours. At one point I even started being alienated by some of my friends (even though it was mostly in my head, and probably the other way around). I went through some pretty humiliating things, and I would never want to have to go through that again. But anyways... I agree with Daf about how "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger", and I certainly came out as a much more mature human being because of what I experienced, but I could also say that things could have been a lot worse, and that I am grateful, and consider myself fucking lucky, that things never got worse. It's because of what I went through for the last couple years (2003-2007), that I've come to really appreciate the value of having (real) friends, food, and a roof over your head. Personally, even though it was one heck of an experience, I would never wish (or encourage) that kind of thing on someone. "When you've got nothing, you've got nothing to lose." I disagree. |

I mean, you live in the streets, no friend, no money, etc? You could lose an arm, or a feet and it would make your life even harder. You can always lose something. |
