While we're on the subject, what about L'Axe?

Naah seriously sounded like Baloos for me too at first, it has a shitty dancefloor basement thing. Sucks big time, but I think she would've noticed she had to go through the first floor in order to get to it.
I'm feeling teh peace (^^)y right now..

Easy now. Montreal literally has hundrends, if not thousands, of bars. You'd have to be a true alcoholic to have been to even a small fraction of all the places in town that serve beer. Its like that Molson ad, no I don't know Sally or Dave from Canada although I'm sure they're nice people. Happy bar hunting.

honestly though, Foufs has cheap beer, a relaxed no-one-gives-a-shit atmosphere, an awesome decor and if you're lucky, the dj might even put on some good tunes on the ground floor.
I'm feeling renewed right now..

You might have a point there... it's no longer a problem if you go dancing upstairs but the music is terrible.
As for feeling old going there, it does have a large seemingly underage crowd but like I said, it's a dont-give-a-shit place. There's enough older people hanging around the ground floor to not make you look stupid like that old guy in his fifties who's always checking out the too-young girls at Le Syndrome...

I'd say that for the 3 for $10 deal it ain't really worth it. The Pound does 2 for $5 and I think it's 3 for $8. Sweet little place. Open mic nights on Thursdays which are actually quite fun despite the fact that it's a bit of a grab bag of "talent", but the place is like a really big loft that was converted into a bar, the staff are nice, and there's a big TV for hockey games. Maybe I just like it because I just have to walk down the hall, go out one door, walk up the street about 200 paces, then enter another door to get there, but it's already better than a half-basement.

I'd say don't hunt this tiny bar out, let it find you, hehe. Before I first moved to Montreal I ran into several places that I haven't been able to locate since. Most of the city is bars.

But yeah Meganne, don't get too affected by the disses of the jerky regulars on here. They do lame shit like hitting people with sticks or drawing stupid mustaches on themselves so it's not really like you have to give them the time of day.
I'm feeling in the shit right now..

Omg, the guy "dancing" in the middle of the dancefloor with his shirt&tie... I remember him! At Syndrome the crowd is not as young as the one at foufs!! Foufs, hung out there for way too long, I leave it to my roomate. I miss syndrome, should go soon!

i think its the other way around.

downstairs its always black-death metal, and upstairs everything from 80's to rock to pop to hiphop, and they used to mix like 30 min of gabber the friday at 2:30 am like 1 or 2 year ago.

i cant stand death metal in a bar.
I'm feeling hardcore right now..

Last time I went, it was a Wednesday and I SWEAR it looked like a 5 to 7 at the St-Sulpice. People had wool sweaters and looked educated. I was dumbfounded.
