Hey guys
I'm writing an article on stores that sell vinyl in Montreal.
I know of a few that have closed in the past few years, but I'm sure I'm missing some.
What I know so far: DNA, MEMrecords, Taboo, CD Esoterik, Rotations, Center records,
Can you think of any others?
thanks for the help
I'll post the article here in a few weeks.
Dave

Bunker. used to be on 3534 Saint-Laurent, just below Prince Arthur.

The owners were Fractal Surfers, the promoters team that brought in Hardcore into Montreal by their insane parties in the 90's.
It actually looked like a military bunker... they have a camo mesh and leaves on the ceilings. SoftImage or some company came in and bought out the whole
block and constructed a modern building. I don't know what it is called. Bunker move to Mont-Royal or Rachel, they might even change
the store's name. Then they were gone.

Rayon Laser. Became Pop Shop, which in turn looks like it will be closing soon.
Disquivel... disappeared without a trace.

i think the store on st denis and mount royal was musikhall no?

disquevel was pretty cool acctually.

there was a place called sound central on st denis too...

there was 2 taboos that are now defunct just for the record... (get it... record?)

does anybody remember that old hip hop shop downtown called "chin phat"?

and what was the one on peel in the back of the clothing store that red dread used to work at?

"mars" on st catherine used to claim to have the largest 2nd hand surplus in canada as well.

there was also similaks shop on bluery called "zulu records" that closed down a few years ago too.
I'm feeling warm unicorn jizz right now..
