yeah the Fractal Center is not the problem. The problem is just that people like to complain too much. I mean, it's not as easy as it looks (if it even looks that way in the 1st place) to find new venues and be sure that you won't have a problem throwing a party there. The thing is that you won't be able to stop people from bitching because bitchy people bitch, that's what they do. I mean yeah hopefuly some will stop whyning when they read threads like this and maybe offer to help or SOMEthing but you know some of them think that they are ACTUALLY helping by complaining so I dunno. I think I made but I'm not even sure....wtv......lol

yeah with a mentality like that...techno music and party gonna die..

\in europe techno music is still doing well and u can go to party with thousand people in the place... and it's because people don't think like that ^

personaly i don't give a shit where i go for party... the music and the people make my night....

i remember when i started to rave 10 years ago... sometimes it was in real bad condition...it was complicate... we got busted...arrested by police...
that just helped to built the bad image of "rave"...

I found one, and it'S a sex ed loft with obstretricien table and torture equipment.
and it's between two downtown metro stops.
less than 30 secs from it. 500$ for a 150 cap though.
But so worth it.
check my profile for pics.
I'm feeling innatronix right now..

Heh. You did Toltech. Whatever you do, it's never gonna be enough for everybody. Whatever we say, this isn't Europe, we aren't in the 1990s anymore and today's reality is the Fractal is pretty darn lucky to still be operating right now.

With the City's crackdown on raves a few years ago, you people have no friggin' idea how hard it is to find a venue to throw a party anymore. Shit, even private loft parties are being busted by cops now ! How fucked up is that ? It's your own damn house, all your neighbours are ok with the party and you've practically hand-picked the guests you invited and guess what ? The police is STILL going to drop by to tell you to close it down, lack of emergency exits, noise and shit.

Funny how 40 years ago, you'd have huge french-canadian christmas parties with families of 6 kids or more, ended up about 60 people crammed up in a 4 1/2, violons, accordeons and harmonicas blarin' 'til 6am and yet the cops didn't bother showing up whining about emergency exits and noise. Wtf ? Not only that but it's the same jackasses who used to throw such parties that are old bastards now calling the cops about " tapage nocturne ". Two-faced biatches.

Regardless, you people should stop acting all prissy and shit and enjoy it while it lasts until there are no more venues to rent and you'll have to resort to " raving " in afterhours ALL THE TIME. Yeah. Try to imagine that for a sec.

You don't know how good you've got it until you lose it. Trust me, I know.
Update » v.2-1 wrote on Thu Mar 8, 2007 @ 5:41pm
Simon, that venue looks waaaaaaaay too classy for a party. Damn. Have you seen those couches ? Can you imagine twaeking kids dropping their drinks and cigarette ash on that ? Yeouch.
I'm feeling that artwork is dope right now..

Hitched: Techno music and parties aren't going to die, I produce so that covers the music aspect, without changing my mentality. Besides I never said I was boycotting legal places, it's just funner FOR ME when I feel like I am getting away with something, i always prefer house parties to bars and clubs, because you are literally throwing an underground party, the second everything is 100% legal and normalized, you are in the mainstream, nuff' said.
I'm feeling work right now..

ok.... yeah i was meaning like people listen the music..it's easy to make art, make people look at it it's an other deal...
for sure u can make music, but u can also be the only one who listen it..

in europe electronique music is mainstream in alot of countries...and i think it's for the best... artist make money...sale their records...party are full...
last time i went to netherlands, the techno was still in the windows of the music store.. as the most popular seller.. for sure there's too it's not the '90 anymore but the genre is established for good...

i hate that all that genre is marginalised.

I don't want to MAKE anyone do anything... I want to make music because I love the style and want to add to it, and to express myself.
I sincerely hope you don't think people create JUST so that they can get approval from other people, that defeats the purpose of true creativity imo.

I don't mind being the only person who listens to my music, i DO do it for my own benefit.

Skotty: Whether your opinion is as good as mine is questionable, but why did you mention that? Have I ever said anything to insinuate that your opinion ISN'T good? How am I not dealing with it exactly?! If you're only opinion was that my opinion was dumb, get a life.

that's not what i mean... you take what i says and twist it at the extreme..

what i mean is that if the genre stay marginalised it's cannot be wealthy and healty.. that's it.

but i really do think that if i create it's for touching people..make them laugh, make them cry... make them hate it or love it...

bon...now u gonna say i just think about money and i'm an evil capitaliste bitch...

i created for 10000 reasons but even if i love it and personaly make me happy i don't do my art(cinema, music video) just for me and stay in my room .sorry.

but i'm not an ambitious person either.
I'm feeling hitched right now..

(on jaze là...)
Pis pour le reste du staff, j'avoue qu'ils sont habituellement très sympa.... Big Up Mathieu!!!
I'm feeling sur le départ right now..

Its kinda nice to go to a party and not have it shut down by the cops. Maybe someone should organise a party, not tell anyone where its at, rent a bus and take everyone to fractal, old school style.
