It does make a very small contribution to pollution.. because it takes energy to produce and paper is only recycled before you use it.. nobody wants it after your shit is smeared all over it. It makes no difference if it's recycled paper because it can't be recycled again. Paper is trees, recycled or not. It takes not only trees to produce it but also energy. Is it gonna save the world if you stop wiping your ass? no. Is it gonna save the world if you stop drivign a car? no. Nothings gonna save the fucking world, nobody ever said it would. That's why I still don't see the point to this argument. Nobody told you to stop wiping your ass, did they? So? What's the problem? Wipe your ass and be happy and let live. |

i don't know if your familiar with the term "global dimming"... but that layer of smog we created in our atmosphere is acctually protecting us from the damage we've already done to our ozone layer. a sudden halt in polution would be much more problematic than a gradual one. p.s. i found JESUS!!!

| Coolness: 92240 | Very good point Murdock_Rock, I was really freaked and intrigued when I read that study. The thing that's killing us is the same thing that's protecting us. I think that's often what happens with problems in general that get too out of hand. It's really hard to say what to do in that situation though. I won't say there are no solutions, I guess for the same reason that no one else wants to, cause a part of us says 'you never know, stay open' but it sounds ridiculous when other people say it to me and I'm sure it sounds equally ridiculous now. At the same time I know we don't have to lose EVERYTHING. I mean even if half the world is gonna be covered in water, let's at least try and save the fish or soemthing. Plus some people will probably still be left.. a few people with nothing, turning back to cave man life and maybe we can start all over again if the ecosystem isn't damaged beyond repair and maybe if it is damaged beyond repair for it's current form it might evolve to a new one, who knows, maybe we will evolve with it. So many things can happen after the disasters that WILL come and what we do now can effect the options the remaining life on earth has. |
