I know things change...but Rave has nothing to do with any of this. I used to go to parties in the 90's and shit got to the point where it was all plur. It sounds cheesy now but not as cheesy as all this ^^^ When I used to go to parties (and I'm not pulling any "back in the day" bullshit) I used to get on a bus with a bunch of people from all over and go to say Philly and sleep on some strangers floor and they would introduce culture and sometimes a new type of music to me and my friends. It was sometimes not our thing BUT it sure as fuck opened our minds to all sorts of new stuff. The music is what brought people together. Different types of music brought different types of people. That is what it's all about. I used to hang at gay bars (I'm straight here) and it was filled with punks, goths, ravers, and all sorts. Nobody called anyone out on their style of music or background or culture or orientation. It was awesome. I like the name of this site...Rave! Like hardcore...rave is a way of thinking or living. It means to me being open minded and showing respect to all....no matter what they pull on you! I just wanted to add a fresh outlook to this! cheers |

BodkinVanHorn, I think most of us totally agree w/ you, and alot of us are actually still going in that open-minded direction, and this thread is definitely about that and information, regardless of what a couple of people decided to get into...though, personally, I think PLUR is a little exagerated, it comes off as religion rather than wisdom...though it would be the perfect attitude to have :) ...but then everything works in theory, even democracy, but putting it into practise and function is aonther thing...oh well, we can still try... ...back to music: my suggestion of the day is - Hoikam, on UncivilizedWorld, find it, enjoy it... ...'nuff said. |
