Tieum vs ophidian would be fucken brilliant. Tieum is just nasty behind the decks and even more as a producer. Ophidian, I loads of his shit, some of it is hit and miss, but for the most part, he's solid.

Tieum's team-ups are always great, see: Tieum & Unexist and Tieum & LennyDee... I like artists that always double-up, like DJ Producer, ManuLeMalin, and Jappo, who often work with other producers...it always gives way to some fresh, quality sounds... ...check out Hellfish vs. Producer,,, or anything by Hellfish, or just anything on Deathchant rec. ... ...

That's 'cause Montreal HC promoters are all poor, up in QC they've formed a nice little monopoly that allow$ them to do what they want, and it $eem$ that what they want is to have every $ingle fuckin' gabber (and almost ONLY gabber) DJ/producer play in qc at lea$t once (don't listen to me, I'm just an ill-informed cynic - who will now never get booked in qc,lol)...As for the MTL party you can't find, WizDumb, this should bring you to it: [ rave.ca ] ...if that doesn't work it's on the Nightlife events board under the name "Dis-play Carcasse::August 25th::"etc..., I don't think it's on the calendar though... ... ...

Haha ! Na !

Respect to you dude, but unfortunately you're totally wrong. You really think we have an empire ($$$) of hardcore ? Things are REALLY different. You even can't imagine how it's hard to do it. Hardcore is hardcore, and wherever you are on the globe, expect Hollande, France or UK, it's definitly a challenge to runs that kind of event.

I guess you're taking for exemple my organisation Kanibalz when you talk about QC, well our secret resides in the Kollective thing. Without the implication ($$$, energy, time) of every member, that would be just impossible. And yes, it's right we have mostly gabber headliners, but of course to promote ALL KIND of hardcore, it's really important. Just look at any line-up, it goes from happy hardcore to speedcore, from gabber to breakcore, via freeform and darkcore, etc.

Cheers.

I knew you'd say something, and I'm glad you did...I'm also glad you explained yourself rather than throw me to the dogs ;-) ... ... however, seeing as how I've only been to QC a few times (and once I didn't get the expected welcome, and the other and didn't see the expected crowd - and wondered why), I don't know how you run things, but from distant observation and through others' comments, I came to that conclusion, but I do know that you guys work as a big Krew to get your shit together, and it's comendable, but I also see how things work in MTL and we SEEM alot poorer, that's all, I didn't mean to say that you we're all rich! I guess that's the beauty of QC, since your population is limited you guys can work together, here, it's all, unfortunately, every man/woman for themselves... but I'm not jealous, I like working alone (well, at least with myself and Bilbo) ... on the other hand, maybe QC & MTL should work together more often (it would also help if you said hello to me more than every fourth time you saw me at a party! Then again nobody HAS to like me, so don't worry)... ...and speaking of breakcore, we'll soon see if MTL can take it (ssshhhhhhhh, it's still a secret for now), and maybe some QCers will come down for that... ... ...anyway, I hope I didn't hurt your feelings... ... ... hats off to your good work up there... ... ...
Update » Nathan wrote on Thu Aug 24, 2006 @ 5:23pm
BTW, Merku, by monopoly, I just meant that over 3/4 of the parties in QC are thrown by you guys, whatever your reasons may be, it's just a fact (unless it's just that the only ads I see in MTL for QC events are your's)...

A small scene that communicates and pools resources will always be stronger than a large scene where people waste time and money competing with each other... It's not about a monopoly, it's about a willingness to collaborate.

like in europe peeps roll massive sounds and co operate as a mass, there are 0 info lines otherwise 5000 people show up, instead word of mouth makes for a 1500 happy people keeping the sound resistance in action....
mtl well little groupes of people reck the vibe by working against one another, hopefully people will work together, its time for a reality check so we can make more fun....

you see that's the problem with hc down here as it is stil pretty streamlined.
many people i know still cannot stand it, be it the average person or the season raver. but that of course is immaterial.
i feel the only way for it to grow and get those big names down here is the fact that there is no exposure for local or regional talent. why not wet the appetite of people? and then as it gets bigger more and more will come.

our scene is still huge, with many 'competing' factions as you say, but there's no reason for us not cooperate in making our broad scene a little more colorful.
the thing with europe is that they have a huge following and the people there are willing to travel. you have no idea how many great shows i've missed for either lack of transportation or lack of people to go with (ya, i'm still kicking myself for missing human blood....dammit). that is another important factor in getting the hc back here.EXPOSURE. i'm all for the locals and it has to start there.

man i had whole big thing written up, but the page got fucked when i submitted it and now i'll have to settle with this half assed post...d'oh
Update » Wizdumb wrote on Fri Aug 25, 2006 @ 1:11am
oh yeah to add, as we don't have any exposure a whole crowd of people miss out. i know people enjoy the hc, i'm not crazy. but it's sad that it has to take a major headliner to get our attention. thanks Na for the heads up on friday, were it not for ya i'd have never heard about it. and i think that's an underlying problem.
for the guys who went HAF 666, you saw what big name (or 2) could bring, but notice how after scott brown played the party thinned out...could that be due to the inherent hhc roots of the party? maybe, maybe not it was still a great party.
the problem with montreal's scene is that it's full of haters who refuse to open their minds.

whatever correct me if i'm wrong
(this was all part of the original message but ya...now you're getting it in pieces, damn weed)
I'm feeling miserable right now..
