Welcome to the riding system.. one of the main things that the NDP wants to change is to see us switch over to representational voting. |

haha
nah.. i think the conservatives in power is a good thing maybe... but only because its a minority... the liberals needed time to rethink their goals... this happens all the time, its politics.. its a cycle... but i agree about the deficit though... the conservatives are MASSIVE overspenders (though the liberals were too at one point, but they changed their ways) their claim to fame is the privatization of the healthcare system... that's supposed to offset the lower taxes since we'll spend less on public healthcare i dont like it.. i thnk the ndp probably has the best idea, theyre young and fresh... theyll have their day soon enough i think.... bleh. |

what im kinda scared of is Conservative+Bloc rule
and that the former will let the latter run their policy and work towards cutting us off right here we'll see i guess |

the conservatives will never join with the bloc.. no party will join with the bloc cause they're a seperatist party..!! |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» mdc replied on Tue Jan 24, 2006 @ 4:50pm |
i dunno about that actually
the conservatives dont give a rat;s ass about quebec.. and they coudlnt care less if they separated.. so they might use that as leverage to get the bloc to team with them |

It never ceases to amaze me how people are so damn optimistic when a new party is elected to power. I mean, when the Liberals came in a few years ago, a lot of people were saying how that would be a welcomed change from the last one and how they were had a pretty good track record so far, were good at this or that or, at worse, it can't possibly sink any lower with them.
And then it does. Because it ALWAYS DOES but nobody seems to want to remember this. I predict the people who voted for and welcomed the Torries in will be the first one in the future to bitch and whine about how they fucked us over ( too ) and break our ears every motherfucking day at work during break complaining about " the Conservative bastards this " and " the Torrie retards that " and how we got jipped...again. No thanks to you, stupid. It is in no way directed towards anyone here, it's just that politics is as exciting a topic to me as talking about doing your taxes on a daily basis and yet, they all seem to want to talk to ME ( and everyone around them ) about it *ALL THE GODDAM TIME*. I'm saying this 'cause it has already started. FUCK. For the record, I didn't vote Conservative or any influencial party. Why ? I'd hate to be the very same people I despise so much : those who voted a party in then spent the remainder of their term finding excuses to hate them. |

neoform youre missing the bus on a few issues here
bloc will work with conservatives to form a majority and get there plans moving along... its already been stated by the bloc that they want to work with harper also, regarding conservatives, just look at their track record, mulroney or conversely the republicans in the usa, reagon, bush jr and sr, they all amassed huge debts for their respective countries, even if they claim to be about sound spending, they tend to give out tax cuts to the rich and corporations, eventually leaving their jobs and their country with huge fucked up spending and no way to get the money back (aka taxes) |

peterparker, I'm sorry, but the bloc did not say they will and want to be in a coalition for a majority with the Conservatives.
Duceppe said yesterday that he will work with the conservative for anything that is good for Quebec, like they did with the liberals. They will vote for things that are good for Quebec and against things that are not good for Quebec. Bloc and Conservatives are really different. And the Bloc always said that if they vote for a law/proposition that is good for Quebec, it will be good for the Canada too. Please stop thinking that the Bloc just want to destroy Canada at all cost. |

if the tories defend quebecs interest, and allow quebec to have an international voice of its own, the bloc will side with the conservatives. So its in everyones interest that harpers licks quebec butt for a while. |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» neoform replied on Tue Jan 24, 2006 @ 6:17pm |
and internation voice of it's own?
Quebec is a province of Canada. Canada is the one with an international voice. |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» Silvermotion replied on Tue Jan 24, 2006 @ 6:23pm |
who gives a damn about what canada says. Canada is way too large and ungovernable anyways. As a province we have unique skills that we should export to our profit. If we want to go in india and send SCN-Lavallin to build airports, and then bombardier to build them planes and metro / trains, its to our advantage, whatever your political compass may point to. Charest is actually doing a good job for this matter, as unpopular as he may be. |
