yeah if people are paying for music, at least my music, I'd like to give them a lossless version of it though... Trust me, mp3 compression, even at 192, takes quite a bit away from the quality of a recording...

However some kind of a donation system would be pretty great, and I know if I got enough donations from people I actually would press music on vinyl and sell it really cheap...

wow . kinda shows most you guys dont play unreleases huh . get with the times guys . there are lots of mp3 releases that will never be on vinyl. hence more great music no vinyl dj will ever have.

quality is mint . 320 is not much different then wavs so they are playable and unmixed for dj use obviously . no offence but take your vinyl battle to an other thread. thanks :)

a lot of people will pay for data if it's cheap and the quality is good, but most people on this site don't even like paying for parties so I mean don't trust the greater opinions here :D

I use Soulseek and BitTorrent to download the music I listen to for fun or mix at home. Any time I'm doing anything serious, it's strictly vinyl, unless we're talking about my own tracks that I just can't afford to get dubs pressed of at the moment. I think paying for something that doesn't have any physical substance is fucking stupid.

As soon as my music starts actually making money, I'm fully planning on buying the software. That'd get me manulas, an install CD, and legit tech support. Untill then, I'm not making any money off of their shit, so they sure as hell aren't gonna make any money off of me.

buying software is just like buying an mp3 but obviously you dont need a manuel surely. say you fav producer releases a track only in mp3. your not going to buy it ? this convo is childish tbh

Its people like you thatll make vinyl obsolete.
Way to show some solidarity for tradition.
Moreover, using strictly vinyl proves that you dont steal the music. You want peeps to "get with the times"? If the time means that if you dont spin anything other than vinyl, youre no good than i dont want to have anything to do with it. Isnt a tru DJ supposed to feel the music on his fingers? Isnt a great DJ supposed to be a great turntablist? Is a DJ simply a dude who mixes the "hot" new tracks.
Heres what i think of 21st Century DJing: - DJs are now machines who simply mix tracks on end without any creativity. Djs are ow being reduced to promoting the newest releases. Its like promotion now, its no longer an art. A bunch of MC marios

At least vinyl safeguards turntablism.

I think we should go back to steel wire based recording devices... The wire can snap from the tension and actually kill you. That's the only true hardcore recording format.

this is a great point.. imagine a world where all the music publishers ONLY made vinyl .. in the future.. cause then schmucks like us could't come along and rip them off..
