no offence gee but thats a crappy way of looking at it . look at it this way : if you got it on vinyl , most probably 50+ people have it too.

That's so stupid. Paying for data? Not even shipped to you on a CD? Might as well have the govt. charge you for the air you breathe.

first of all i think its a great idea Noah.. if you act as a label and sell artists' mp3's, then it's assumed that you would take a cut... you make a basic % that the artist receives, and that's it.. in addition, depending on the way you wanna write it up, you may own the rights to reproduce the music thereafter and you could make CDs, vinyls, etc.. with the artist always receiving the same %. or something.

secondly, ya, most DJs prefer vinyl, and mp3 is really not there YET as a DJ Friendly medium. i think one day it will be. but I also think there's a lot of people out there that would listen to way more electronic music if it was accessible to them, but all they can hear are badly recorded DJ mixes or mainstream offerings that actually make it onto CD. random electronic music listeners don't have decks, wouldn't know what to do with a vinyl, but represent 99% of your potential market for selling music.
