| They make a VST if the juno 106. Exact replica. All you gotta do is run it through a tube amp or a tube-warmth plugin like t-rex and I guarantee you couldn't tell the diffrence. |

I barely use any of the hardware I have.Update » nothingnopenope wrote on Tue Jan 9, 2007 @ 4:00pm for 99% of people hardware synths are a waste of money |

| yeah, hardware synths are really just computers running software. A good DSP card and you can have stuff that sounds exactly the same, if not better, than most analog gear that you'd pay thousands for. |

| yeah the only thing I really like about my virus (besides the hands on stuff) is it is very good and responsive for playing live. For jamming I prefer it to a computer, but for making music the computer is way more convenient. |

| k thats not reallllly a rebutal.
but you cant win the hardware vs vst argument.
you'll get something close but not AS good.i hope we all agree there. |

| That not entierly true. 99% of the gear that comes out these days is all digital, it's just a DSP chip with a custom designed software, in other words, a VST with it's own dedicated hardware. There's extremely little that you can buy that's actually analog. |

| If I combine all the atomic children non computer gear we have used over the years: a virus b, hardware compressor, korg drum machine, many mics, several mixers, analog tape recorder, a bunch of electric and acoustic guitars, a shit load of pedals and effects processors and a line 6 pod, mini disk recorders, and a whole bunch of stranger stuff... That's used maybe 5% of the time. The rest is all computer based. We'd be fine without all the other stuff. 95% of the work is midi controllers + computer. |

| indeed... I've had my Nord Lead 2X for almost a year now, I've used it like 7 times and only recorded from it once... VST's just sound better :\ |

I'm feeling sober right now.. |

| well my problem is that I use a laptop for a lot of my work.. and it means when I bring my computer anywhere I can work on music anywhere.. if I had a bunch of synths I'd need a truck to bring my music production anywhere.. I've been at school before between classes and started making music in the library (with headphones).. It's really great. |
