( WARNING: This is not for the frail hearts )
[ getactive.peta.org ] A friend of mine send me that video. It shows the "horrific cruelty involved in each fur or fur-trimmed coat, scarf, and hat(from the conditions that exist on fur farms in China)." At first I was shocked, then could'nt watch any longer ... I'm sharing this crazy video cause I felt it must be seen. How can someone do this ... damn ... I love cute little raccoons, dont turn them into coats! And not like that! :( |

I don't have a problem with someone wearing fur if they killed and skinned the animal themself. |

I once again, don't have a problem with someone curing themselves of a terminal disease, provided, they did all the research themselves..

You should stop breathing, you didn't convert that CO2 into oxygen yourself.

Fur is not the same as curing diseases. Anyway I don't throw paint on people that wear fur, as some PETA supporters and other extremists do, as I respect other people's freedom to live they way they want. If someone wants to wear fur they should be allowed to. But I have my own set of beliefs. I have much less of a problem with native people or others who live off the land who when they kill animals do not let anything go to waste, and wear the fur, use the bones as utensils, and eat the meat. There is more honor in that. I do have a problem with farms raising animals just to cut off their skin, in poor conditions where the animal suffers greatly.
Ian likes to compare widely different subjects to make others perceive him as having a solid argument. When I was a child I used to look at the world in that way, but later I learned that the world works on a continuum, and morals and ethics do not apply universally to everything in the same manner. |

I was merely pointing out the flaw in your logic. You used a very poor example using poor reasoning. Next time use a better one and i wont be able to shoot it down so easily. Try this one instead: "Wearing fur in modern times shows society has finally reached it's pinnacle of decadence and will eventually destroy this planet after years of rape."

we're animals, just like the animals we kill.
put a lion infront of that racoon and i'm sure he'd tear it appart just the same. is the lion sick for doing that?

I love beef jerky for the simple fact that we've reduced animals to snacks!

Other animals kill for survival because they require the food or need to defend themselves against other predators. We kill for pleasure and sports entertainment. There's a big difference.

the lion needs to eat, we dont need to wear fur. And the lion doesn't leave their pray waiting while metal grinds through the bones of their cute little tiny hands.. |

Ever see a lion kill the cubs of another male? How about a killer wale playing with a seal before killing it (smashing him around with his tail, flipping it violently around jus for fun). We eat meat because we've been doing it for millions of years. How can you possibly expect humans to suddenly stop this trend considering vegetarianism in humans has only become a popular trend in the past 50 years.. ? be realistic.
