So at the rave, i said bye to my friend Phil who decide lo leave around 6ish. We used to live in the West Island so Lionel Groulx was our metro. (211 bus)

At 10ish, me and my friend get to LG and we see Phil. "hey wtf? i thought u left long time ago, you werent on the shuttle bus"

Phil said he felt asleep in the metro and no one bother to wake him up for the last 4 hours.

omg wtf happened to those kids??? why r they dressed like that?

The japanese creativity and individuality looms from their stern family values and their national society expectations.

Japan is a very advanced modern nation. However, much of their remnant cultural past affect them today. It is amusing how the japanese prints article from other countries, despite their xenophobic views. They are curious how other people view them.

Thus from these two standpoints, one can espy how the japanese youths emerge as a sharp contrast to their established rigid society; the kids are discerning themselves and in addition, fabricating a new cultural identity.

btw....japanese are so not into drugs. I betcha 9 outta 10 japanese "ravers" are clean.

Khat, qut, kat, chaat, Kus es Salahin, Tchaad, Tschut, Tohat, Tohai, Gat
(Cathinone, Cathine,)

WHAT?!?

"Catha edulis Forsk, popularly known as khat, is a plant used in parts of Africa and the Arab Peninsula. Its fresh leaves and tops are chewed or, less frequently, dried and consumed as tea, in order to achieve a state of euphoria and stimulation.

Due to the rapid air transportation, the drug has been reported in London, Rome, Amsterdam, Canada, and the U.S.

The public has become more aware of this exotic drug through media reports pertaining to the United Nations mission in Somalia, where khat use is endemic, and its role in the Persian Gulf.

The khat plant is known by a variety of names, such as qat in Yemen; tschat in Ethiopia, and miraa in Kenya.

In 1980 the World Health Organization classified khat as a drug of abuse that can produce mild to moderate psychic dependence."

WHY?!?

"Cathine and cathinone are phenylisopropylamine derivatives which resemble the amphetamines. Khat consumption induces mild euphoria and excitement. Individuals become very talkative (loquacity or even logorrhea) under the influence of the drug and may appear to be unrealistic and emotionally unstable.

Khat can induce manic behaviors and hyperactivity. Several cases of khat-induced psychosis have been reported in the literature. Khat is an effective anorectic and its use also results in constipation.

Dilated pupils (mydriasis), which is prominent during khat consumption, reflects the sympathomimetic effects of the drug, which are also reflected in increased heart rate and blood pressure. A state of drowsy hallucinations may result coming down from khat use as well (hypnogogic hallucinations).

Withdrawal symptoms that may follow prolonged khat use include lethargy, mild depression, nightmares, and slight tremor."

HOW?!?

"Khat is used for its mild euphoric and stimulating effects. Because of its anorectic effects, khat is used by some members of the Islamic faith during Ramadan, the ninth month of the Moslem year, which is spent in fasting from sunrise to sunset.

Emigrants have now brought the khat habit to the U.S. Even though khat may help these religious and cultural groups preserve their ethnic identity in their new environments, the dependence on its use must be seen in the same light as those of the other psychomotor stimulants, amphetamine, methamphetamine, and cocaine."

WHO?!?

"It is estimated that several million people are frequent users of khat. Many of the users originate from countries between Sudan and Madagascar and in the southwestern part of the Arabian Peninsula, especially Yemen. In Yemen, 60% of the males and 35% of the females were found to be khat users who had chewed daily for long periods of their life."

WHERE?!?

i dunno. your local persian community?

[ www.....how ] Romanticist your replies are.

okay, let's enact the situation; The employment is not in North America, nor in the European Union, nor in Industrial parts of Asia/ Oceania.

You are going in a Third World country where all the modern common necessities are not readily accessible. Dass right; pre World War 2 plumbing (or not any plumbing), nor any clean running water, diseases that was conquered last century in Western nations are still rampant and would dig to party in your body. No internet, no 5$ moccachino coffee place, no parties(well not like raves), no mass telecommunications.

Not to mention current local polical strife, post civil war despondency, various tribal clans on the verge of ethnic cleansing or slaughter i should say.

You don't get a great salary, nothing abundant to bring back home. You will work (or volunteer) for Oxfam International or maybe UNEP, United Nations Environment Programme.

They usually paid in accordance to the local rate in the country you are in. Since the majority of nation states live in poverty and their Gross National Product is far less than Wall Mart, your pay is NOT alot.

Your living spaces is nothing to rant about either. You don't know anyone other than fellow workers, and you won't know the local languages. Life will be hard, but rewarding. It will be a challenge of a lifetime.

I'm not only asking if you would like to leave Montreal.
I'm asking if you would leave the life you know and discover real world culture and maybe to learn more 'bout yourself.

think about it again. I did. It is hard to come to a conclusion.:|
