at the core of OS, a program/process can be attached to a (OS) signal. TCP/IP ports functioning on the same principal, *nothing* should occur if a packet is sent to an unlistened port and (a program) listening to a closed port should be futile.

I must have been strolling on a bike. The dream starts me next to a tree right on the separation between a field and the city with building of more than 1 story, some 3 other 12 or more. there's an old television next to the tree, I have the feeling it was the black & white I had in my room as a child. the tv was powered and I had a video console with me ; I was having fun playing games on a ride (away from home or a friend's place).

a women came to me and courteously asked me what I was doing, I asked if it was her power which she didn't deny so I started to pack my things and offered her some food ; I assume I have no notion of tender while dreaming or perhaps I long to do trading IRL. I had some noodle & pork in a bright cylindrical plastic container and I told her to have some. she just stood there so I took my hand grabbing half a handful and shoving it in my mouth telling it was good ; I don't remember if she had some.

she then went toward her place, I don't remember if I did so to be polite or she was receptive to me or whatever... it was across the limiting block where there was 1 tall building and I peeked in the windows seeing people sleeping in their underwear on mattresses laying on the floor everywhere, there was a morbidly obese women on a mattress in the large alley of that block (I guess rape was quite low).

we then got across the street to her block. it was colored with hues of dark red, it made me think of gypsy-like, and I remember having a hard time looking at the number but I did shift my view to make sure it was so : 2644. I knew I was dreaming and I'd forget the instant my mind shifted to something else while not making an effort to remember so I started repeating 2644 frenetically (in my mind in the dream, not speaking it). I then looked around to see the street name sign being Jeanne-Faissat ; I never saw/heard that name before in my life. I then woke up, I remember being in a semi-conscious state for some time as I was struggling to not forget. I assume the mental effort woke me up.

I was in a totalitarian state and was a national (not a stranger). Both times the same but I don't know if I was embodying the same men.

The first time I was a a small enclosed street an a soldier was spewing a flamethrower on the side of my street and I was running toward him waving my hand hoping he'd see my colors and avoid me. Well he did avoided me while he was busy with the event (battle, cleansing, ... he was doing) but after he came toward me and I can't remember if we talked or if just decided to have fun or whatever and went at me. I managed to flee and ended up in one small house, like one in that enclosed street and he spotted me and pressed the trigger. I remember that panic I was in ; I don't remember if I was in pain though.

The second time there was a *big* fight going on and soldiers had very large weaponry, I don't know if there was a pause in the battle of if my side won but one of the soldier narrowed his attention to me. He realized I was in a dissent paper and wanted to get rid of that. I fleed in a large building and we had a couple encounter which I manage to avoid getting shot to death. finally I canme to a room wil pillers and dividing walls and tried to set up a trap. I had a skill saw and plugged it on the wall. I remember very clearly realizing the cord was too short to make an effective trap but I couldn't resist. When the soldier came in I pressed on the button on the perfect time for the noise (so he wouldn't jerk away from hearing it) but the blade came searing at his face but was missing just a few inches. I remember how at that moment how he started toying with me and waited for some long minutes until and giving me fake chances before it got to the moment I though was final. I remember the panic.

Occupy Oakland Closes the Port
Davey D: Occupy Oakland is built on the shoulders of decades of struggle

[ therealnews.com ]

some real action are beginning with that "occupy" thing.

Update » DynV wrote on Mon Nov 7, 2011 @ 3:43am
DAVID DOUGHERTY, TRNN: Oakland, California, was jolted by massive demonstrations on Wednesday, November 2, after the Occupy Oakland movement called for a general strike. The move that drew thousands and effectively shut down the Port of Oakland, one of the largest in the country, came just a week after Oakland police seriously wounded Iraq War veteran and demonstrator Scott Olsen, after he was shot in the head with a tear gas canister. Davey D is an Oakland journalist and host of Hard Knock Radio who has been involved in social justice advocacy for years. He spoke with The Real News regarding some of the origins of the occupy movement and the general strike in Oakland.

DAVEY D, JOURNALIST, HOST OF HARD KNOCK RADIO, OAKLAND: There's two things going on: who's actually camping out in front of city hall, and who are the 99 percent that support it. Many of the people down there that were organizers were people of color. That's the first thing. The second thing that people are very clear about is that whatever Occupy is going on in Oakland stands on the shoulders of past efforts and movements. Oscar Grant movement, which crossed all types of racial lines, preceded the Occupy movement, where many of the same issues that are being addressed now were being addressed then--systemic unemployment, systemic police brutality, systemic economic disparity and tyranny. We saw communities of color facing record numbers of foreclosures, both in the black and brown communities in particular. These are things that were being addressed, and a lot of times they were ignored, even by people who, politically speaking and ideologically speaking, should have been in alignment with us. But the way that things work in this country, for better or for worse, we usually don't get involved with movements or we don't really start protesting until the problems are on our front steps. And so maybe a year ago, when people were talking about Oscar Grant and his execution by the BART police, and all the issues that were connected to that in the communities that came out protesting, you know, you didn't have the groundswell that you may have with the Occupy movement, you didn't necessarily see this covered on in some of the progressive journals. You didn't see his trial being a front-and-center issue the way that Occupy is. And so, you know, for many communities of color, the Occupy movement, we looked at it like, well, you know, welcome to our world. We've been dealing with this. And, you know, maybe you need to fall in and pick up some expertise from the people who've already been fighting these fights and join in. And I think to a large degree Oakland was able to do that.

DOUGHERTY: The demonstration has drawn considerable national media attention for several incidents of property damage and violent confrontations with police, who arrested between 50 and 100 protestors. Banks and fast food chains became some of the targets of vandalism, and in the early morning hours of Thursday, police confronted demonstrators who had occupied a vacant building. Many demonstrators hold that the overwhelming majority of protestors were peaceful, and that some even worked to subdue the violent black bloc anarchists accused of promoting the escalation. But as the dust cleared on Thursday following a night of heated tensions between police and some of the demonstrators, both the city and the Occupy movement were left wondering how best to respond. For Davey D, much of the discussion of violence has overshadowed the magnitude and significance of the largely peaceful port closure and general strike, which he says developed out of several overlapping struggles.

DAVEY D: This happened in a week. It came in the aftermath of the unrest that took place last Tuesday, in which we saw this brutal police repression. And people came back and reoccupied the City Hall Plaza--Oscar Grant Plaza. And there was a general assembly with about 3,000 to 4,000 people, and folks said lets call for a general strike. I think part of the understanding was that there are some very tangible things that people could be and should be doing. There was a very tangible target: banks, forcing them to close; and two, the port of Oakland. If you shut them down, they lose $8 million a day, and it impacts not only cities and customers up and down the West Coast but all around the country. Each day that you shut it down, shipments get delayed a week. So that seemed to be a very natural and understandable type of goal. The other thing is that part of what you have going on is these relentless attacks on the unions from the 1 percent all around the country. And so when you talk about strike, you're talking in the language of unions. There's a very strong union presence in Oakland, and they were already dealing with issues at the port already. And so that was a natural alignment, so to speak. The third thing is that in Oakland, shutting down the port seven or eight years ago in April 2003, there was an antiwar march, and people went to shut down the port, and police shot people with rubber bullets, injuring several, and caused a big mayhem. And we really haven't seen us shutting down the port since then. But out of that shooting came a number of lawsuits and edicts that the police had to agree to in terms of crowd control. We saw those tenets, so to speak, violated the week ago. And so people really wanted to push that envelope and go back to a place that they were shot upon by the police. So if you kind of line it up, it was the accumulation of all these incidents and more that really made this area fertile for the idea of a general strike, and its ultimate implementation was able to happen because of all these factors.

DOUGHERTY: Solidarity actions were held all over the country, as Occupy Oakland has galvanized the Occupy Wall Street movement following the police repression and subsequent popular mobilizations. While each city has its own unique experience and goals, all of the occupy movements are working towards creating a space to develop a project that challenges Wall Street and the standing economic order.

DAVEY D: I think every city has its challenges, every city has its history, and every city, when highlighted, symbolizes something special. If you're down in Atlanta, that's the cradle of the civil rights movement. How the Occupy Wall Street plays out there can only do so with that in the backdrop and that history intact. What it means in New York, where it first launched, there's a history there. It's in the belly of the beast. And so what happens in Oakland can be inspiring to what goes on in New York, can be inspiring to what goes on in Atlanta, and vice versa. And I think there are obvious similarities in terms of who we're targeting, and there's also similarities in terms of how those who we're targeting are reacting and then trying to push back--you know, they use the police, they use a campaign of disinformation with corporate media.

DOUGHERTY: Occupy movements across the country face considerable challenges with both local governments and approaching winter weather. In Oakland, the city council expressed a desire to end the Occupation camp, and Mayor Jean Quan stated that the camp may need to move to a different location. This is David Dougherty with The Real News Network.

Sadly I currently don't have the time to read and I have a long To Read list I've been yearning so I won't get to Collective Unconscious for some time, although on my own I keep getting back to that, if someone has some insight on the concept or some of its offspring or sibling philosophy, please share what you think about it here.

I'm very curious on the subject ; things in my life just don't make sense on their own and I suspect the mind either has some hidden ultra-sensitive parts or that we were communicated, perhaps through creation or some sense that scientist don't know of yet, inklings of thoughts that germinate affecting us beyond the know learning processes.

[ en.wikipedia.org ]
Collective unconscious is a term of analytical psychology, coined by Carl Jung. It is proposed to be a part of the unconscious mind, expressed in humanity and all life forms with nervous systems, and describes how the structure of the psyche autonomously organizes experience. Jung distinguished the collective unconscious from the personal unconscious, in that the personal unconscious is a personal reservoir of experience unique to each individual, while the collective unconscious collects and organizes those personal experiences in a similar way with each member of a particular species.
Contents

Jung's definitions

For Jung, “My thesis then, is as follows: in addition to our immediate consciousness, which is of a thoroughly personal nature and which we believe to be the only empirical psyche (even if we tack on the personal unconscious as an appendix), there exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal, and impersonal nature which is identical in all individuals. This collective unconscious does not develop individually but is inherited. It consists of pre-existent forms, the archetypes, which can only become conscious secondarily and which give definite form to certain psychic contents.”.[1]

Jung linked the collective unconscious to 'what Freud called "archaic remnants" - mental forms whose presence cannot be explained by anything in the individual's own life and which seem to be aboriginal, innate, and inherited shapes of the human mind'.[2]

Archetypes and collective representations

Jung considered that 'the shadow' and the anima/animus differ from the other archetypes in the fact that their content is more directly related to the individual's personal situation'[3], and less to the collective unconscious: by contrast, 'the collective unconscious is personified as a Wise Old Man'.[4]

Jung also made reference to contents of this category of the unconscious psyche as being similar to Levy-Bruhl's use of collective representations or "représentations collectives," Mythological "motifs," Hubert and Mauss's "categories of the imagination," and Adolf Bastian's "primordial thoughts."

Minimal/maximal interpretations

In a minimalist interpretation of what would then appear as 'Jung's much misunderstood idea of the collective unconscious', his idea was 'simply that certain structures and predispositions of the unconscious are common to all of us...[on] an inherited, species-specific, genetic basis'.[5] Thus 'one could as easily speak of the "collective arm" - meaning the basic pattern of bones and muscles which all human arms share in common'.[6]

Others point out however that 'there does seem to be a basic ambiguity in Jung's various descriptions of the Collective Unconscious. Sometimes he seems to regard the predisposition to experience certain images as understandable in terms of some genetic model'[7] - as with the collective arm. However, Jung was 'also at pains to stress the numinous quality of these experiences, and there can be no doubt that he was attracted to the idea that the archetypes afford evidence of some communion with some divine or world mind', and perhaps 'his popularity as a thinker derives precisely from this'[8] - the maximal interpretation.

Marie-Louise von Franz accepted that 'it is naturally very tempting to identify the hypothesis of the collective unconscious historically and regressively with the ancient idea of an all-extensive world-soul'.[9] New Age writers go unhesitantly further, claiming that Jung himself 'dared to suggest that the human mind could link to ideas and motivations called the collective unconscious...a body of unconscious energy that lives forever'.[10]

Its almost like a child who believes in santa claus, or the tooth fairy. In their mind, its real. And to a large extent, at that point in time in your journey, and for the people you generally associate with, it genuinely *is* real. PLUR exists in all its wonder. And its beautiful and breathtaking. You should enjoy it, and live it, and experience it.

I think one of the reason no one of us truly shits on PLUR, even though some n00b starts a thred every 3 months or so, is because we all felt it once. We all went through that stage. Even if we didn`t call it PLUR, cuz junglists dont do that, we all still felt it. Even if we`re jaded as fuck now, we remember our plur stage. Its an awesome stage of the journey, just like a child opening presents on christmas morning. How sad it would be if ravers didn`t get the plur experience! It would be like telling a child that there is no santa claus!

I often think you're a bit too positive for my own taste and I assume it's the opposite for you. That post was right on. Kudos
