| i agree that philosophy is mind expanding and alot of the time very interesting, but it has to be something that you willingly want to learn, otherwise it isn't worth being taught to young students (if it were made into a grade 10 + 11, maybe even 9 selectable coarse, than i'm for it) but if its a class that you have to take, i don't see it being succesful...though i could be VERY wrong |

| Actually, the law as it was created in Canada/Quebec has nothing to do with the idea that people are "good." Criminal law which is universal throughout Canada was inherited from the same source as law in the United States - English Common Law. It is just as easy if not more so to suspend individuals rights in Canada then it is in the states.
The idea of law was not to protect or control people, but more so to protect people's property, which if you studied any of the major philosophers who were instrumental in influencing the creation of western democracy, is the most important aspect of a civilised society.
The legal systems in Canada and the United States are very very similar when in comes to aspects of public law.

| Once again the police have shown their true nature. After the Steve-O show on saturday one police officer was video taped body cheaking a protester from behind cause him to slam into a wall face first.
By now they should have put in place a policly to do the rough work out of the camera's reach...i guess this paid thug did not get the memo...hope he gets fucked...but it is dream..police look out for their own good or dirty. Good thing he was not black or coloured (no mystries death to report)

| I always thought chick cops were more bitchy then guy cops...that is until I got cought on shrooms juss finishing a blunt in some park in ndg...yeah I know wtf you doin' smokin in a park in ndg..I was new to Mtl...didn't know it was the "bad" place to chill...whatever...I was all like "ok whatever search me...(my brain kicked in for some reason not to fuck around) and they were like, "you girls got anything else on ya?" I was like no...we live at this place, I don't come from here sorry were going home...they let us go...pfffft dunno why...but they did. But I have had ridiculously bad encounters with the cops......grrrrrrrrrrrr...plus they always catch you for stoooopid shit... |
