Don't worry guys, one day Dubstep, too, shall be "irrelevant" and "impossible to dance to".
Until then, I shall continue to ensue aural carnage upon all the little dublettes out there. :)
I'm feeling x_x right now.. |

I'm somewhat positive that there was still dub in the dubstep in those days!

Haha, I figured that post would get a lot of hate.
There is no sound better than dark, heavy, modern dubstep: [ youtu.be ] (Bar 9 - Murda Sound) [ youtu.be ] (Distopia - Age of Darkness) [ youtu.be ] (Illdiana Jones - Thunderbirds) [ youtu.be ] (Melamin & Wicked Sway - Metamorphosis LP) Of course, I probably have something wrong with my head to like this kind of stuff, so don't let it aggravate you too much. ;) |

There are plenty of sounds better than the tracks posted.
You like them great, but to discard EVERY other sound out there and say there is nothing better than this? Bitch please!
I'm feeling ez sessions monday wut! right now.. |

Dubstep was really THE soundtrack to 2011, whether people like it or not ... and liking how it evolved is a question of taste ;)
BUT, it's still a shame that what was a cool thing to do with it (dark/heavy random wobbles) became a style/the-norm rather than just being a technique used for a few note-worthy tracks. IMO, the same thing happens to all genres of music ... Then again, if only 3 tracks of a certain sound exist, they'll be hard to discover for some and yet over-played by others ... so you need a million songs with that sound, and you can sift through it all and find the few tracks that are worth playing/listening to. You probably shouldn't ONLY listen to that sound though ;) To say that dubstep is shit, is going too far ... but to say that it's THE shit? C'mon now, wake up! xD Anyway, just my opinion, don't hate me for it ;)
I'm feeling you up right now.. |

I actually lol'ed a bit when a known local dubstep DJ told me he was waaayy into electro a few years ago (about the time it was way trendy, Neon were throwing huge electro nights at SAT, etc.) before hearing dubstep and deciding he wanted to play it. And perhaps he truly likes it. Or perhaps he's just in it for the fame. Why get your panties in a bunch over it? Most of the people here have insane musical knowledge and taste, and I'm always happy to start a convo over it, whether I end up learning about and appreciating a new artist/genre or not. Some people just wanna be told what to like. Sucks to be them, IMHO, but that's just me. Looking at history, we can all be sure the hype will die down. Sheeps will move to the new hip thing, fans will keep listening/producing, and the world will keep turning. We know this. Can we NOT kill ourselves over it? I love you all. Especially those who broaden my musical horizons
I'm feeling chaotic! right now.. |

I'm not saying those are the greatest tracks in all existence or anything, it's just an example of the sound that I like. You must have a favourite genre, no? |

Yes.
Edit: Psykotropik, if you are interested in "darkness", innovation and sound experimentation in music, Dubstep is the last place to look. lol

Oh my bad my English must be a bit rusty. "There is no sound better than dark, heavy, modern dubstep:" certainly sounded like you were saying just that. Of course I have a favourite genre, but I would never be so short sighted as to say there is no sound better than the genre I like, which is what I initiated my reply with "you like them great.." To each his own, but I would suggest exploring A LOT more genres before declaring that dark heavy modern dubstep is king of all genres

I should have written: "Dark, heavy, modern dubstep is currently my preferred style of music." Of course it's very unlikely that it will always be my favourite. Originally Posted By Termina
