And I don't mean to be a prick, but I can smell ass-holes a mile away, and after 15 years of going out and seeing how it runs, I could smell a shit operation like a fart in a car. But hey, they are fun places to be, go party and all. Don't get me wrong. I'm just saying it a volative as fuck piece of business, and it's really more about the money moving around than the kids on the dancefloor. |

Those guys don't even spend when they go out, act like douches 24/7 & they never bring ANYTHING positive except bad vibes You know I stopped going to raves regularily when they started bringing hip hop into raves in the 90s. It was around 1996, 1997 that I noticed the CHILL OUT rooms got replaced with HIP HOP rooms What a fucking mistake, I mean personally I don't want to go to a rave and be surrounded by the same assholes I can find anywhere, worrying about weather I'll get stabbed for bumping into the wrong guy, so I just slowly stopped going and started my own clubnights And no one ever got stabbed or beat up in any of the 12 years I've been playing, just good times and memories Music is about vibes, the music you listen to will affect your mood and outlook, its like food but for the soul. Mind what you put in your ears ;) |

Who did they have on stage with them? 4 goon's sportin black sunglasses and cell phones, arms crossed looking tough. I saw them in 1993 in Toronto with House of Pain and Funkdoobiest. great show. all of em are produced by DJ Muggs and each one did a great live show... I was right as close to the stage as you could get. but I gotta say... in the mosh pit where I was, white kids were gettin their ass beat. for real. little white skater dudes were getting the shit kicked out of them by gangstas literally like 5 feet from me. it was pretty scary. but I just focused on the music and had fun and watched my back at the same time. the friends I came to the show with from Hamilton were wayyy too scared to come up with me to the stage. they stayed way at the back of the arena where it was safe. can't say I blame em. point being... I was into Cypress from the get go - like 1992, and I was at their show when they were new, so I know for fact they had a pretty violent message... How I Could Just Kill a Man, Hand on the Pump, Hole in the Head... I love all those songs but they are all about murder and carrying guns for protection. shit their one video was so violent Much Music banned it. but I dont mean to split hairs on you. I can see what you are saying about Tribe and Roots. and Cypress is soft now compared to the old days.. well no wonder, cuz they are older than me, that's for damn sure lol. so now the crowd they cater to will be much more suburban and harmless just for shits and giggles this is the video they banned. I still love it, and it was so ill back when it came out. probably my favourite Cypress track. but if you know this track, you can see that they are hardly about peaceful storytelling ;) |
