Back in the day, Neoform when he was mixing progressive trance, and Amalgam. Trance isn't usually a type of music I can get into; it's too "strict" in it's rules. ALL psy has to sound exactly like psy, ALL epic trance has to sound like every other track, there's no room for originality or inovation. You can't get away with putting a hardcore gangsta-rap acapella over an epic trance track, you can't drop a 4x4 metal remix in the middle of a progressive trance set, and while you're at it, when was the last time you ever heard a trance dj scratch? That's why DnB is my prefered music out of all the other genres of electronic music; in one set you can go from upbeat jazzy/disco-y liquid funk, to dark neurofunk, to metal remixes, to hiphop-style jump-up, to hardcore-like skullstep, then straight into oldskool ragga jungle and finish it off with some trance-'n-bass, and it's all gonna fit and everyone is gonna go nuts with the diversity. You can stagnate with one sub-type of DnB if you want, but there's just so much room for diversity in DnB that there's no way I could ever give as much love to any other genre as I do to DnB. | Coolness: 106250 | Sorry strik_IX, I'm an artsy badass now, i only listen to obscure genres of music that the mainstream listening audience shuns. Its part of my ongoing battle with conformity and my need to fit in with the cool crowd.
So yeah Tiesto sucks, his music sucks, the producers that he spins suck, the peoples that like him suck. Those t-shirts suck. The only things that dont suck are non-commercial, intellectually stimulating music with high levels of bacon in it. So strik_IX, your tirades have no affect on me, I'm on your side now. :P |
