I'm not saying you shouldn't like it.

I'm just weary of someone calling it "the.best.ever" in the Simpsons Geek tone. Someone might buy it and totally hate it.

I liked it, mind you. I mean, I played it three times. But it felt like there was a HUGE build up for no goodies. I like it for what it is: a couple hours of necromorph killing. But it's not a masterpiece; far from it.
I'm feeling happy right now..

And get "style" points for it, to boost.

LOL, what ? What a sec here.

So playing an obese bearded transvestite with tits, totally naked, spraying shit from a waste disposal truck on a dude driving a car that looks like the Oscar-Meyer Wienermobile in Saint's Row 2 is a MORE SATISFYING FOR YOU than an engineer using lasers (LASEEEEERS!!!) to cut off limbs of zombieish creatures ?

........BWahahahahahahahahaha !

Yes. Because Saints Row 2 promised me this and DELIVERED. Dead Space was so overhyped with the comics and the previews and whatnot; the final product did not deliver.

Saints Row 2 never claimed to be a masterpiece or "the greatest sandbox-type game ever". Saints Row 2 didn't have promotional comics, paid previews and so on to try to sell me the idea that it would revolutionize the genre. Dead Space did :)

By the way, this is my opinion of the game. I'm not telling you not to like it.
I'm feeling happy right now..

As for you Dr.N, I was merely pointing out how a game with obese transvestite appealed to you more than a game with lasers. LASERS ! COME ON ! LOL ! :)

Besides, if Dead Space claims to be the greatest sandbox game ever, that's a massive FAIL right there. It ain't even remotely a sandbox game. Heh.

As for your opinion, I'm not here to discuss that, but I will reiterate that if

Me --> guy with lasers = WIN
You --> 300 pound naked man with lipstick running people over with a garbage truck = WIN

...just proves that "To each his own".

Hehehehehe.

Not running over. Literally hosing shit at them :D

And Dead Space claimed to revolutionize the survival horror genre, not the sandbox-type gaming.

I still find that nothing beats Eternal Darkness in that department. Even if I didn't much like the Gamecube.

And also, in SR2, I'm not really playing a transvestite. I tried it but I ended up with a Jason Statham clone, complete with transporter suit, black car and British Accent. I feel like I'm watching a brit flick while playing.

Hosing shit at them ? Heh. Yes, I can see the depth of gameplay here. LOL.

And Eternal Darkness was awesome because it messed with your mind but like the goggles, it did nothing, nothing to scare the pants off me. The only thing that gave me moderate chills was the woman constantly crying in the background. At first, I tried to find out where it was coming from until I realized the more I moved, the same the voice volume was (so I wasn't getting any closer or farther from it).

Dead Space didn't make me want to shit my pants either but I'm quite a whole lot more antsy as to what lurks around the corner though. And the enemies are a whole lot scarier too. Again, not OSCAR-winning scary but still.

I've yet to find a game (or a movie for that matter) that TRULY scares me. I think Dead Space is a step in the RIGHT direction though. The zero-G levels are awesome. :)

Dead Space was scary, that's for sure, but the Silent Hill series (except origins and homecoming) really scared the hell out of me! Last time I played Silent Hill 2, it was with my last roommates watching, i really didn't want to play it by myself :P
