Well, TCP/IP stacks, UTF8, what was already mentioned.

Vista is a failure in design and implementation, but XP isn't the holy grail of the PC landscape either. It's worse. It' like saying Windows 95 is better than XP because it runs faster on some arbitrary machine from the late 90's and you dislike the yellow dog when you do a search. That may be the case but it's not a better OS.

For the record, I run OS X. Both Vista and XP are garbage to me. I jumped ship long ago for brushed metal unix like douchebaggery. But it's just an OS and it's not like OS X is a miracle or anything. Nor Linux. They each have their own idiosyncrasies.

You want hard: I had to fix a computer today with Vista IN SPANISH.

In OS X it would have been a 10 second or less process to change it to english, in Vista, you have to buy the right localized version and install it to change the language. Fuuuuuck are they behind.

I gotta say, Im running vista 64-bit on my laptop, and I have no complaints whatsoever... its super solid, super fast, can do many things at once, and Im able to install 32bit apps and they run smoothly... I think it depends on your processor and ram, cause I got enough to go round, so no issues... to boot, I was on the waiting list for beta testing 64bit driver for serato, been benchmarking for 2 days now and Im in heaven!!!!

Ufot-a convinced vista user

Yes, I would pay attention has my punctuation! Only so jarrive has to include/understand the subject. :)

Good luck with your rod and flagstone, buddy. Totally nymphormatik, javous. I include AND understand the subject, and you DON'T NEED TO SHOUT.

It means faster network transfers and more configuration options. You can also prioritize transfers so that a high priority file will reserve as much bandwidth as it needs and hence it's transfer speed won't be affected by low priority transfers. Perhaps more useful for home users is that Vista will also detect the most secure settings available to you for your particular network and use those as the default. It also has improved wireless security along with a new Fast Roaming option which supposedly allows you to auto-connect to preferred wireless networks without losing connectivity from the prior non-preferred network.

And obviously it does your laundry for you.

It's either black or camo, so it's either shades of black, or looks dirty anyways!

QoS is nothing new to windows or computing.. and what do you mean by faster transfers? Lower latency? If so, by how much?
