Built by NovelQuest in Quebec City, QC by a designer called Martin Carpentier.

For all you nerds out there, provided you'd have the space to have this in your home, who wouldn't WANT that Deathstar workstation ?
I'm feeling hospital records right now..

fuuuuuck that's pimp!

The only thing I'd do different is have it designed by Giger, but yeah, that's fucking ill.

I've always wanted to build a gaming rig designed for things like Mechwarrior or Flight Sim, where you've got 5 monitors; 3 like that and 1 on your left and right. That would be the coolest.

Somehow I would so make a YouTube video about a big call center with a sea of cubicules with a whole section gutted to fit THIS thing where one agent takes call with his headset and various Excel spreadsheets across the 3 screens and the 3 or 4 cubicules closer to this thing would feel dwarfed in comparison.

That could win a " Top Ten YouTube Movies of the day " award.

I went there a good half dozen times. The seats were amazing. With all those screens, yes. :D

It's built in Québec so you'll get a "sexy" naked Gaspésienne chick who's stomach you can eat poutine off of.

It needs actual 3D sound. I mean, if it won't let you know where the enemies are, not only left/right and back/forward, but also up/down, I call this thing broken.

Theoretically any 7.1 sound card could, instead of having "sides" channels, use them as "top/bottom" channels.

5.1 is plenty for 2D. 7.1 will work for 3D if coders get around to making it happen.

Not much to it either, since most sound processing is done in 3D anyway.

A 3D sound field happens even with stereo. If you've got a properly recorded session of music, with 2 speakers you can tell where the instruments are in relation to each other (if it's a band recorded live, and not instruments recorded seperatley and then mixed)

It's really amazing to be listening to jazz and be able to close your eyes and you can see where the bass is, see that the guitar player on the left is taller than the one on the right, and be able to tell on which side of his kit the diffrent toms are.

true... but i think the the point of 5.1 or more is to have the vibration feeling helping out in giving that 3d effect
