You seem to discount that the powers that be are those responsible for the high gas prices. They want MORE centralized resources and power. Not less. Things will only change after mankind's gong has been rung loud enough that eardrums will still be ringing 100 years later. |

But things won't change the way people expect them to. People expect collective change. Government change, organized change. I feel that the kind of change we will see will be highly individual, that some persons will attain complete empowerment over everything that touches them. Call it evolution. A new kind of human. Not one who depends on the group to organize things so that they are "balanced" but one who MAKES things right. For himself. Everyone potentially has this ability. It's just a shame that most shun it, prefering to fit into a collective that does nothing for them but offer imaginary, utterly psychological, security. |
