and it was pretty much some of the best nights I had in Mtl when the club was packed, Ak1200, Dave Clarck, Adam x, Franckie Bones, Cut killer, Stacey Pullen, Q-bert, R.de la G., Felix the housecat, Christian Smith, Derrick Carter, Ken Ishii, The Advent, Nuclear Ramjet, Richie Hawtin Sven Vath, Bad Boy Bill, Dieselboy, Capital J, Steve Lawler, Josh Wink, Green Velvet, Umek And Valentino, Aquaviva, Carl Cox, Speedy J, hey FUCK THAT MAN... We had some wicked rippers in there. Too bad some ppl don't like big ass parties. To my taste... it takes that Guido muscle boy in there to make it a party. Who else are you going to laugh at for looking like a robot on viagra? Without the sketchbag looking like he's gonna stab the next motherfucker.. how else are you going to keep alert? That's what made it feel like an urban environment, and made it even more special when you hit up the spot with all your friends getting fucking hyper in the back. It's the experience of having it all in one place that made it sweet for me. And the part where I was getting paid and all my friends were partying for free... I guess that's why there's some haters in there... rip. Aria... even though last years were ... inexistant for me anyways. it's like seeing your old grandmother die of a generalised cancer. Sad site. |

 Coolness: 144900 | It's sad news, I did have a lot of fun at aria in the past. I'll miss those drum & bass nights or when they used to bring big techno headliners on fridays.
Electronic music no longer has anything to do with the mainstream anymore. Big parties like bal and blanc and Black & blue are getting less and less attendance. Afterhours are closing down. The only "massive" interest for electronic music seems to come from the gay village. Whatever we may all think of the commercial scene, these things do have an impact on the underground scene. We already felt this. |

We already felt this. hah hate to say this but...bal en blanc have a very dumb way of organizing things which really surprises me. I was trying to get tix for Silver - ordered VIP. Emailed us to tell us we need to pick up the tickets by tuesday of this week (ordered them last week) between 9-5. We asked if they could mail them to us because we work...they said no. Productions like Phonolite (soma) or tech safari, and big ticket master events @ bell center makes the situation much easier by paying online then picking up tix the night of the event...we have a life and cant go to one location in the middle of the day to get tix...I am sure someone will go for us but its the fact that counts. Maybe thats why they are getting less and less attendance? |

 Coolness: 140690 | I think that aria closing down might bring back proggressive (and I mean anthem-ish) trance back into the rave scene... which is fine to me although I know most of you might find that shit to gay or uplifting or whatever... Stuff has already started since all trance series died and I think we all know that there is still an interest for this type of music and there are a lot of homeless promoters now that might just consider moving that party with "insert name of dj in top 20" to a big assed rave...
Just hopping that if it does reopen as a bar that there will still be two rooms (dunno how the hell they could make that into one room) and that there will still be diversity in sound of both... and if there is no hip hop I wouldn't mind ;) unless its some nice booty bassy shit ghislain poirier style or some eletro-ish english sound... yeah ill keep dreamin |

I love the stuff and considered doing a regular night, but the kind of people it brings and the kind of places i'd have to deal with are just not my scene ... I'd have to start from scratch and learn how to promote all over again |
