I used to believe that I had secret unused powers that I would eventually learn to control.

I used to think that the moon was made of cheese and that craters were made by astronauts. They built rockets so they could go up there and eat like snake *lol*. Space suits were made big so astronauts could grow fat. Omg that's awesome! If I prayed long enough, it would rain candy. There was a tree that grew consumer products instead of fruit. The bottom of the river was full of corpses of unfortunate car drivers and behind the apartment building there were mermaids. I couldn't take candy from strangers in cars, but I'd have to think about it if it was a Barbie. An evil wizard lived on the other side of the river, and he was waiting for me to grow up so he could come and get me. Fish could talk and leeches were Satan's minions. A homicidal maniac lived in the swamp next to the docks, and the alcoholic neighbor was possessed by evil spirits *runs on the street with axe*. Skeletons were buried in the apple tree field and secret treasures too *used syringes included*. The neighbor's evil guard dog was possessed by evil dog spirits and cows were holy creatures. Rain was a fertility symbol and brought us crazy amounts of fish *weird*. Fat cats had barrels for a stomach and chicken were vampires. Lizards were zombies and porcupines were crazy. Omg, I have tons of stories cause my childhood was like an extended version of Alice in Wonderland, but with more acid.
I'm feeling very good right now..

Ignorant in my youth, I used to think everyone was honest. Of course I eventually came to the realization that everyone exagerates the truth and spreads misinformation. Who would've thought that the people we trusted the most as children (primarily our parents, teachers, news and political representatives) would be the mothers and fathers of lies...

Being honest is a choice we all choose or neglect to make. I'd think that honesty is the 'right' way to go no matter what but sometimes we all feel inclined to lie or bend the truth in order to protect or benefit an individual, not necesarily even ourselves. To be in denial about something is the perfect example of lying to oneself for the purposes of psychological protection. It's interesting how every lie serves a different purpose. Some of us are uncontrollably compulsive liars, some of us do it for fun or social experimentation, some of do it out of vengence, some of us lie out of fear... Whatever the reason it, it's never the 'right' thing to do because a great majority of the time lies are eventually exposed and I honestly believe that if people stoped prolonging the inevitable and told the truth more often we'd be more spiritually enlightened, less stressed out, and progress faster as a species because we'd spend less time and effort trying to disseminate and filter out false information.

For awhile I was fully confident that I was only being fed factual information. Gofigure. Eventually I began speculating that some of the information I assumed was fact needed to be scrutinized occasionally. Now that I think realistically I'm forced to be skeptical and doubt practically everything. In truth we're all deceived at different times, under different circumstances, and on different levels. Some of us don't even realize it and others amongst us do and simply don't care which, in my opinion, could be viewed as even worse than someone who's not even aware of the fact. Personally I hate doubting because it causes insecurity but ironically I think I need doubt because I feel more secure knowing that I'm consciously insecure as opposed to being ignorantly and blindly trusting in everything which would only cause me to redevelop a false sense of security which is something I don't ever want to have again.

(Btw, I'm sorry if I upset you the other day with the whole semantic debate regarding the arbitrary nature of 'right' and 'wrong'. The truth is that we all have different moral opinions which is why its very hard to openly discuss sensative controversial topics that involve politics, culture, religion, war, etc... without someone getting frustrated or apathetic but I think we should all make the effort to hear each other out and respect each other's opinions which would allow us the opportunity to gain knowledge and make objective criticisms on the points of discussion.)

me and a couple neighborhood kids actually believed that we were werewolves... we did tons of weird ceremonies and used to always try to find our 'way' home. our arch enemy was a hunter that we only saw in our dreams... it was weird but we were six people all believing the same thing, one girl was the leader.. the queen wolf. I wonder if it was HER doing.. :P
good times though :)
I'm feeling normal right now..
