well, not to bring spirituality into this or anything, but many shamans from around the world would agree with you. There are many stories of entering other worlds or dimensions in which years and lifetimes will pass yet only one second, or no second at all will pass in the real world. Obviously there's no backing that up, but it means simply that a lot of people share that view. It was particularly important to the celtic people of europe and the middle east as entering their other world or dimension was supposed to happen this way, and this world was dead central to their belief systems.

Did anyone know that suns EAT black holes?

ahahaha. Please, go entertain the Astrophysic scientists. Actually, the "electricity" you talking about are tiny little vibrations from strings zillions time smaller than the atom. See superstring theory.

perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.

time you must learn to use it to really know it's value.
time can be really long and really short.
time is expressed through cycles.
time is infinite.
time is life.

You jsut decribed like three different things.. how can something be short and be long at the same time? It's on or the others.. time is infinite so it technically cant be long nor short, Since it is on going. And if time was life, then time would have an end, Since all living things have a begining a middle and end, So it time was life Then i wouldnet be infinit now would it? You get what i'm saying.. get your facts together friend.. What is time and what is not time.. Time IS infinite.. Cuz it's a constant cycle. We jsut pop in the cycle and then pop out. But life itself cannot pop in and out of itself.

Try being smart befor trying to sound smart friend.. I mean i'm jsut trying to get you to see a lil more clearly.

life has no beginning of end. well your life does, but life in the whole does not. people die everyday and life eats their bodies and continues on to the next day. cycles of life. cycles = time.

the way something can be short and long at the same time is because there are many beings experiencing the same time with many different perspectives. while i'm waiting for the bus in the cold (loooooong hehe) you are having fun and your time feels short because it is filled. i'm sure you experienced this, looong seconds ticking before the bell rings in class, but soo short lunch breaks.

time is beyond self.
time defies any rationnal thinking.

No no.. Your talking about periods of time, THats not time.. that a part of time.. A period in time..

Time does not defy any rational thinking it jsut escapes the simple minded i suppose.

time is a whole. time is now.
sometimes now is boring. which is long. you get conscious of every movement of the clock. sometimes now is fun, which is short. mostly it is this way. sometimes though fun is long, like eating slowly and enjoying it.
time is what we decide it is, every moment.
i may be simple minded yet i have an understanding of time and i say it. maybe you don't understand because your mind is too complicated. that is not my problem though.
i like saying things about time. i like time when i say things about time. it is fun.

time in the way i know it defies rationnal thinking because i perceive it intuitively. though i can unite both sides and when they harmonize no word is needed. i am living time and i am gonna make another use of my life time now. ;)

It would be our counsiousness then that flows from one point in the block to another that creates this wonderful ilusion we percive as time.

Even if our minds sequence the events themselves, it takes a forward movement to sequence something, ie:time. That would be like putting millions and millions of seperate frames together just to form a moment, and how would our brain know which to chose?

I agree that there are Asymmetries within time (unlike the other 3 dimensions of space). "L'eau est come le temps: il coule, il coule, il coule".

And there has been no proof that Time/Space is indeed in a block form, however there are plenty theories on time Asymmetries whitin this block time view that support it's possibility.

Here is a list, they should not be taken to be definitive characterizations (nor should the list be taken to be complete).

------------------------
Entropic asymmetry: the second law of thermodynamics states that entropy (or "disorder" ) increases over time.

Casual asymmetry: some events are causes of others; causes usally occur earlier than ther effects.

Knowledge asymmetry: although we can often make accurate predictions about what will occur, we have detailed and reliable knowledge of the past.

Action asymmetry: our delibreration are oriented toward the future, not the past.

Experience asymmetry: we experience our lives unfolding in a present that inexorably mouves forward in the direction of the future.
------------------------

The question that I've been poundering for a while now is NOT if our brains are capable of seamlesly flowing from one point to another, I'm sure it can, but rather, what makes the [PRESENT] so damn important to us. I don't mind feeling bad yesterday, it's today I'm worried about.

And the only reason why people would dread the future is because it has not yet come to past...

If i'm wrong, and the Future and Past are equally unreal, how would the above example be possible?
