It shows how good the actors have to be, to express "fake" emotions especially in an environment devoid of the actual details that make up the scene, they have to tap into their imagination and really bring out reactions without cues e.g., a magnificent view or wtv. Impressive.

Just because there was garbage before you went doesn't mean you can't clean up after yourself. If you don't it just makes more work for the next party that has to clean up to make their evening pleasant. Anyhow, I am glad it was a success! Very impressed :)

Due to a learning disability I often visit the office for students with disabilities, and I noticed that like everyone else, some people in wheelchairs are nice and some are not. Some a super bitter and take everything for granted i.e., are really rude when asking you to move out of the way or simple not bother and almost run you over, while others are kind, joyful and very polite when asking people to make space for their wheelchairs. Also, they have good days and bad days, like the rest of us. I don't think they are any more rude than the next "normal" person...

i'm not 'not hiring her altogether', I'm just 'not hiring' her this time. Regardless, it's too bad that we don't get to see her deco 'this time', I've always admired it.

I think he meant that, that IS the definition of daydreaming :p Daydreaming means being in a dream-like state while awake, p.s. you can daydream during the night, if your awake ;) heehee

I to often dream of the same places, I have about fives spots that I go back to over and over again. And the characters in my dreams are usually medleys of people I know, like 2-5 people mashed into one huge significant figure in the dream. My dreaming style is very archetypal, symbol after symbol, usually takes me weeks before I fully digest exactly what happened and what it COULD mean... usually hits during an intense moment during the day, sort of like an epiphany. Besides, "meaning" is all pretty relative...

I'm relieved that what I thought of as selling is the same as what most of you described (never thought I'd be so glad to have the same opinion as someone else heehee)... I still don't understand AlienZed's example, but not sure it really matters, since he was kidding.

As for the personal comments made between AlienZed and Yoshin, I can't help but think it's a bit weird that an organizer would altogether stop hiring an artist because of they refused to work in certain environments... It's like saying you wont hire a band to play in Quebec because they refused to play in Toronto or wtv, unless there are financial reasons I think it's a bit weird, but hey, I think a lot of things people do are weird...

I know I am also being totally unhelpful, I have no freaking clue who plays psybreak or where to get some :/ although it sounds like it would make pretty cool beats, something juicy and greasy! or would it sound more like crispy?

Well, @Deception, I hope the psybreak beats bring you fame and money :D oh oh and lots and lots of fun!

I am not sure I understand what you mean. How is accepting a challenge making him a sell-out? Sure it's risky to accept a job where you may be under qualified, but a sell-out!? I don't get it. Please explain.

Badder can spin many types of psy-trance, I've even heard him spin ambient-type and electro-type music. I've always heard him do more than just beat match the end of a track with the beginning of the next, not always but often. I've also seen him gauge the crowd, change up a bit what he was playing right in the middle of his set, he has an awesome sense of groove. And I am saying this about a DJ that doesn't even play my favourite type of psy !

If anyone can pull it off, I think it's him. Do some music shopping and practice every day.

I'd also like to point out that no one has actually helped him... you've all bitched.

Do any of you know any psybreak!? Can any of you send him some artist names or something...!?

Good Luck dude! :)

Party wasn't annoying, the it's the venue with one washroom :p The location is convenient, I always find parking and it's super easy to get to. If it was a non-smoking party it would be better. There was a lot less smoke at Secret Society, although the crowd was older on average. Met many guys from Belgium, that were more my age hehehe

There were 2 or 3 garbage, what happened was people being too lazy to spot them, one was right at the entrance, another at the entrance of the back room... I also kept finding crap everything :/ Lazy stoners haha

Party was way tooooo dark for ME... a serious lack of melody, but that's just for me, once Jesse came on and everything following was more my style :) OtKun put on some funky beats, but still not enough melody for me :p

Of course there was too much smoke, although that was expected. It wasn't too too packed, just the one washroom thing is really annoying.

All around it was a success.

@Dzzz I took every single learning, motivation, emotion course, social psy and neurobio oriented that Concordia has to offer... we have biologically mediated processes, reflexes and learned behaviours, no instincts.

I think we are just having a semantics and nomenclature problem here...

@AlienZed Wikipedia is NOT an ideal source of information, even wikipedia finds that the article needs work... the text books cited are outdated, I have the new edition of half of them or am very familiar with the purported theories.

I apologize for the curtness (I really suck at being nice).

---

I don't think there are any grounds for a law suit, he's have to prove that these comments have interfered with his life some how e.g., loss of income.

I think most people are just thrown off by how he SEEMS to only hang out with very young girls, I rarely see him with anyone other than the youngest chicks, his pictures for the most part corroborate my observations.

I also agree that his reply today did not gain him any favors, when people complain about behaviour they usually want an explanation followed by a compromise. I would like to know what he studies, is he a professional photographer, why are his pictures mainly of young women... And on a more personal level, for him, and to obtain facts, what is the mean age of his pass girlfriends/fuck friends, how old is he?

I'm only half serious... if someone is truly bothered by his behaviour, they should tell him... I did... about 5-6 years ago at a party... He never ever came up to me after that, nor has he taken undercover pictures of me :)

Your wrong... Research shows that humans do not have instincts, there are too man examples of children failing to produced the expected behaviour without guidance from a caregiver e.g., rooting. A child only roots once s/he has learned that the nipple provides nutrients and/or quenches thirst. Also, mothers have often been caught throwing their babies out...yea like in the garbage, and they are perfectly sane, there is no mother instinct.

What were once thought to be instincts are now considered to be learned behaviours.

Reproduction instincts are also a myth, affinity is a biological process mediated by neural pathways linked to olfaction and the release of oxytocin. Evolution studies as well as psychological studies show that if sex was not pleasurable animals/humans would most likely not partake in activities that lead to producing children (spreading of the said genes). Another example is that most couples engage in sexual activities other than intercourse for reasons that do not stem from fear of accidentally producing a child, they report liking four-play and blow jobs/cunnilingus more.

+10 for who can tell me who is in this picture :p

---

Dilute culture means societies that perform acts (e.g., Christmas, Easter, thanks giving, communion) that stem from old traditions that are void of the original philosophy or meaning behind said act. E.g., Easter is about chocolate not the ascension of Jesus to heaven. It's been a while since I took religion courses, there are many examples from ancient Greek, Roman, Hindu and Judaism where people perform (only) parts of rites with no idea of why. p.s. dilute doesn't mean bad.. it means less than 100% pure, nor was it a reference to evolution (perhaps a byproduct)...

Women having to take care of children alone has been a recent apparition. If you look at tribal life, before raising the children was the job of the tribe as a group, not left to women alone.

Also if you look at the logistics of sexuality itself, and our primate cousins, like the Bonobo monkeys for example. You'll realize females are actually the multiogasmic creatures orgasms possibly being separated by just seconds , while men can just have one and then have a waiting period. In Bonobo monkey tribes, women don't wait for the males to regenerate, instead they pass on the next one, in search for the next orgasm.

This fear of females truly achieving their sexual potential and "passing on the next one" is where this idea that women have to stay at home and take care of the children sprouted from.

If you're interested in the TRUE origins of prehistoric origins of modern sexuality, I suggest you read "Sex at Dawn" by Christopher Ryan and Calcida Jetha. It's a hefty read, but it clearly makes the differences between our believed "natural notions" that have actually been socially constructed and the true nature of things with science, genetics and logic.

I highly recommmend it. intersting stuff :)

This is accurate!

this wont be elegant, I am pressed for time, but from what I know, human do NOT have instincts, there is no biological clock we are mediated by culture, there are several animals where rearing is left to the males or to the group (and animals do have instincts), lastly in human cultures, if indeed rearing is left to the woman, it is done in a group setting and when the boy becomes of age he sent to the men to finish his rearing. Modern Europeans and Americans have really twisted everything, we are a dilute culture that have held on to minute quantities of tradition and have completely forgotten the philosophy and meaning behind rites.

I am pretty sure animals have a right to enjoy life, at least a little bit...

I think zoos should only hold animals who's natural habitat has been destroyed or is being destroyed and these zoos should be adequately funded to reproduce the animal's natural habitat and find mating partners...
