I like where this thread is going, [ rave.ca ] is definitely still alive! ;)

I prefer sticking to my many friends who don't rely on facebook. It's hard to find people with no account (even I have one for a company social group and my bands) but there's a difference between spending your time there and centering all your info on it versus just having an account to see pictures and join closed groups.
I find it crazy that people blindly give out so much personal information there and hope that everybody is going to use a given social tool (facebook, twitter, etc.) and check it all the time. I prefer missing out on some info and losing connections to certain people than jumping in this sheep game.

However this is one experience among others, and not everybody have the same relationship with technology, computers, internet, facebook, etc. ...and the same goes with nature, other human beings and life in general.
What I mean is that many people never used facebook, many others used to but went off it and are better off this way.

Experiencing extraordinary "ups" makes the normality look like it's a "down". I think it's a matter of finding new and lost landmarks, in order to help recalibrate one's sense of norm/up/down.

This tends to happen a lot to (former) ravers :)

By being informed, we can work towards doing something. There are plenty of things we can do and are already doing, such as using fungi and algae to absorb radiation; people continue studying the problem and are still trying to convince authorities to stop using nuclear energy.

The news industry is currently not saying much about this catastrophe, almost telling people that everything is under control since April 2011. Independent info like this is trying to give real information and counter the mainstream disinformation. I don't think any of us here is panicking.

Also, if you think that radiation stops at mountains and dirt, maybe you should inform yourself a little more :)

This is vital information that should be widespread. Cover your ears and eyes if it makes you feel more comfortable.

I find service is really awesome in Québec, even in Ontario, BC and New England (from what I experienced).
I think this is, for a good part, due to the fact that a waiter/waitress expects better tipping with better service.

France has no tipping, and the service is crap. I know this is greatly due to the average French personality and mentality, and I'm not sure at all that installing tipping in France would enhance service there.

However, I think that removing tipping in North America would probably make service worse, due to the above reason... we still might get better service than in France, though ;)
