This!

Can you imagine that back in the day this site was the first to secure the [ rave.ca ] domain name and that it allowed you to post status and mood updates before the Internet was even a mass thing? I supposed it was to create solid bonds between ravers with the hope to keep it strong in Montreal in the future. And now it all came down to this? Better rename it if that's the case. For real.

I guess we should call an ambulance because the PLUR thread was kind of shot in the head by us, the very children of fucking PLUR.

Oh I wasn't insulted ;) It's the truth. I really did that. Of course I quickly realized I wouldn't live out of techno here so I'm using a talent for redaction-translation and I scored a decent job to feed my hunger for techno. For now.

Can we just agree that Bliss is a great DJ because that's the plain truth and this subject always end up in the way of the ''real'' stuff. Plus, as I said somewhere else, I don't get why people would want to take his talents and acomplishments away from him when the whole point lies somewhere else completely. It's not by saying that he sucks at it that it will take away an ounce of it from him so what the fuck. Maybe if no one attacks him on that, he won't feel the need to claim it again and again until the end of time and this whole site can move on to the light.

Anyway, the good part of life today is that Boris Brejcha apparently got is soul back and he resumed the production of that unbelievably badass and imaginative blend of techno that's mindblowing (instead of those cheesy trance tracks he was making in the past 2 years for some unclear reason). I've been posting this everywhere and it's been a while that tracks did not get into me instantly like this one so try it!!

I can't believe he didn't make it to Eclipse. I would've died right there! At the third afternoon of the party. What a shame!

To make this random message relevant, let's say that I wish Boris Brejcha to headline the Bliss event.

I think we are all waiting to care about who was there first, but care prefers to sniff cocaine in the back of the DJ booth with the next batch of promoters that dream of a scene.

What I care about is what's happening and what's happening is that people that once threw above-the-average parties with a lot of local talent that got paid at every gig to make them part of the whole are telling me that it's over because over the years they lose 1000$ here, 5000$ there for the crime of putting their heart and ass into it. I'll always remember that Montreal got the scene where NOERG lost 4000$ for a party with over-the-top visuals that took a chance of bringing Dusty Kid here in 2007 when he was making that music that was so awesome and special. The headliner didn't cost that much, the setup did. It was truly an avant-garde event at the time and NOERG was really throwing quality parties with local DJ's getting paid good money to play. I know that because he booked me twice and paid me more than all the others combined in 2 years. That might've set a trend of professionnalism and quality.

But after a few times losing cash in the thousands like that over the years, well the dude got sick of paying and paying for people to party in nice environment with artists selected for their creative input. That's just one dude that was doing it right, it didn't fail all the time but now apparently he's gone and I saw some fucking greedy, megalomaniac assholes fill up the space quite quick.

Seriously, I know that you're gonna tell me that you put 100 000$ in the bank just by being a DJ and blahblahblah. That, if only you would just prove it, would put you as a Goliath around here because I know only 1 other guy living of his DJ income in this city, it's quite a legendary DJ and he doesn't seem to enjoy money pouring in like you do when you represent the original raver spirit in some obscure club night. Actually, when I started refusing the lame timeslots and crappy gigs I ended up having really more fun being a DJ and also having to forget about living out of it.

So, in short, no one makes mad money but you. How do you explain that,
and please do not use the words:

- "hard work" (because some others work hard too),

- "dedication" (I've got a lot of that and so do several DJs and artists in Montreal).

- Do not tell the Original Raver Dude story

- Do not tell us that it's the breaks or the funk. As far as I know, Planet Break did not slow down the pace because they made so many millions that they didn't care for music anymore. And do not give a pathetic and confusing point-by-point answer like you did a few posts up. Leave those for Homer Simpson. :) :) :) :)

I would say that if you make money by being a DJ, it's because you're good. But I would say that if you really made 100 000$ by playing club nights and obscure events, they must be organized by supernatural promoters sent just to pave your way for glory because I'm not even sure that if you take bal en blanc, eclipse, piknik and the black and blue, I'm not even sure 100 000$ was spent on DJ's in Montreal since you came to us with the spirit of PLUR as the original raver.

I would say that this PLUR thread is beyond gay it's not even against homosexuals anymore. How can you shit this thread when just by taking 5 minutes to check on the other threads you happen to be part of every goddamn conflict around here with 3 people that you accuse of being drama-magnets. However, I think that if you are at the center of every conflict and that they are only in conflict with you, it means that even though you are an original raver of this city and have been fueling its thriving electronic scene (rivaling Berlin) with your skills and positivity, it seems that somewhere along the way you turned into the person pouring the most lame drama on internet that I've ever seen. Or maybe you get Masa, Basdini and AlexF to pour it for you. It's all the same. I think you will never quit it but why can't you just play nice in every sense of the term? The Internet is full of your bullshit, man, I lost three hours checking your bullshit on dnbmtl and here. I don't know why or how can manage to keep this up. Maybe you just troll for fun and have a lot of it, but why can't you just be nice? Since you happen to play the music with the greatest vibe, I don't get the part where your ego is bigger than Jesus and your mouth is running like the Energizer bunny of crap.

You were an original raver here, well congrats, but the world is still ruled by a ruthless merchant aristocracy, more that 65% of the population does not eat enough, crazy dictators are manufacturing atomic bombs and every sign is there that environmental catastrophe is right ahead. So maybe you could do something about that and then I'll tell everyone you're a fucking hero. Maybe I can be your sidekick, being there since 1996 only. You'll be Batman and I'll be Robin.

Or do nothing about that and keep the music pumping but just remove the douchebag skin that hides that marvelous PLUR heart of yours because I looked around and I can't see it.

Might I remember you about your crusade against homophoby? Because it looks like you're telling this obscure story to insult them. However, this is gay slur! So the main anti-homophobic [ rave.ca ] crusader is like a traitor to his own cause! What a dramatic twist (yawn). with a source as credible as your "friend Wendall", I have no choice but to say that he might've told you that they were fucking with dogs on the Saphir dancefloor. As far as I'm concerned, it's the value of that story.

There is a scene in Montreal? A day job scene.

There was a scene for 17 years? What are you talking about? How many promoters were just blasted out of it because their were losing cash in the thousands in the past 17 years? There's your scene.

Oh, wait I remember the Arrival parties... But it was a biker's thing.

The Anticipation parties! That's worth being called a movement. It was in 1995 or something like that you know.

I've just been caught in the act of thinking that someone in Montreal just discovered that some local talent was able to rock a party and decided to book it and finally throw some money in the scene to support it and get it alive and so on. I think I forgot to take a lot of my meds to assume that such a thing was happening ;)

Especially after experiencing a few times (party politics censorship cut dates and names) where the organizers, when they were not busy stealing money from each other were almost dying of drug overdose on the dancefloor while a lot of people were taking care of sound, security, and rocking the shit out of the crowd so they could get some credit and deserve themselves a medal for making the scene happen and also saving the world while I and countless others were starving because we put all our money on tracks and free time on perfecting the skills so they can steal our soul. I'm getting jaded I know.

So sorry about the mixyp. Point still valid.

OK, I'm going to annoy some people with this but I have to point out that hating on the fact that he's headlining an event is pointless. Headlining is a success. For a DJ it's a recognition of talent and hard work. In Montreal, most of the time people with the good timeslots are either internationsl bookings (sometimes booked pointlessly) or some lame-ass DJ that happens to be the cousin of the guy throwing the party and blahblahblah. So it's kind of cool when an actually great local DJ is headlining and that means that he's earned it and attacking him because of his successes is really lame. I mean, especially the DJs and artists in here that are passionnate with music would get an orgasm if they had their face on a flyer like that so quit the childish hating. I really wouldn't give a shit if people were laughing at the lame picture of the event I'm headlining and so would any of you.

That put aside, the guy's attitude and comments are clearly questionable. I don't know him, but he sure appears like the goddam king troll of of the shitstarting universe. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve recongition for his talent. I remember him playing a slowed-down version of billie jean at piknik in 2008 ans the place was lit on fire so stop trying to take away what he got from him and concentrate on pointing out the douchebaggery of in Internet attitude or just ignore him whatsoever. It's getting really retarded in here. Just look at the threads list it's pathetic.

My 2 cents

Ok so you dug some African death metal out of the Internet. Respect!

Here's a signal from outer space that we somehow picked up at the 64hz headquarters years ago. I think it's really fucking psychedelic. Here's a quick factoid: Markus Lange was bound for techno greatness but he was KIA in his music-making career by his own father even though his tracks were clearly awesome. Why? Because the guy was like 18-19 and his father would follow him on tour to make sure that Markus was not drawn into a decaying spiral of drugs and women. This led to a family feud that pulled him away from the club scene. I vaguely remember the father standing next to the DJ booth when Markus Lange played in Montreal years and years ago. What a cockblocker! Markus is now releasing pop music I think, once in a while. He doesn't even have a coherent RA bio.

A-n-y-w-a-y, this track is massive.

I dunno. The only reason I see is that all that semantic discussion is part of a very elaborated plan to establish the New Funk Order and send everyone not funky to their slow and painful death in the musical gulag while we shake it like there's no tomorrow on the insanely hot dancefloors of funk where nothing but funky shit will play until the end of time on repeat.

Maybe I could headline the line-up at the gulag though... That would be awesome!

Is there a rave with techno suited for jaded ravers like me because I was thinking this very week that I would love to rave if only there was some badass zombie techno I could rave to. Playing at Eclipse reminded me of the whole raver forever feeling but I dunno. Last time I tried to go to a rave I actually went to the exact opposite (a party full of hostile cliques of absolutely non-ninja people getting drunk on music way over the speed of light and a fight even broke out during the 2 and a half seconds it took me to jetpack myself out of there. Was a free party.

It was filled with insane energy but in the bad sense of the term. It was like an antirave.
