I haven't tried the mixer... but come on that looks frkn sick. I always wish I could have more in depth eq for mixing. Plus a filter control per channel!

Like say from Dubstep through Electro to Progressive down to psytrance and maybe even some Hardstyle?

Ya avoid trebas and musitechnic like the plague. Your better off investing your 15000$ in equipment then figuring out how to use it. However if you really want to go that route there is Vanier. It's less expensive and I heard it's as good if not better then Trebas and friends.

I'm gonna add a vote for electroacoustics in University. I just finished my first year, and holy shit did I learn a lot. Only thing is though they don't teach you how to use software and how to make sick basslines. But trust me you can figure that out on your own.

What it comes down to is your passion and will to keep trying. Producing music is not exactly "fun". It takes a lot of time and practice + many many hours of isolation and late late nights. Fuck I'm waiting for a track to bounce to audio as we speak.

In the end it comes down to your own will to succeed and study. Shit most of the info on how to produce "techno" music is already widely available on the internet. There are even youtube video instructions. Honestly, and yes that's pretext to say something hurtful; but if you haven't been on your computer day and night researching and trying shit out then you should probably keep music as a hobby.

Ha the problem is that everyone wants to pretend there doing something new by giving it there own pet term. Think of how many names we have for 4 to the floor type dance music between 120 - 160 bpm.

Then people like to pretend there cool by having super restrictive and elitist taste in music, so they can shun others that listen to lesser forms of music.

So screw it, listen to what you like, it's all edm in the end.

Only thing is that your bass seems to take over the mix a little. Try lowering it in volume, or try cutting out some frequencies with a sharp q dip filter between 180 - 300 hz. And maybe a little boost around 800-1000hz for a little more presence.

Otherwise the rest of the mix sounds pretty spot on to me.
